Today I finally got to watching the TMBM epi of Shahid and he happened to mention that when he first got the script of JWM, it was called 'Geet'....and that got me thinking....was Geet the only character in JWM that leaves an impression?? It's obvious that being a larger than life character, she does garner a lot of the attention.....but I'd love to know the views in general about this.

I personally adored Geet in the movie....but the character that touched me more was that of Aditya.....his silences, his sarcasm, the dry humor, the quiet understanding......

i like both characters equally... they both complement each other soo well... so to say, Geet is the ONLY character that leaves an impression is wrong...
i'm partial to Geet though, because she's exactly like me... LOL...
but i love them both equally.... Geet would not have been so much fun to watch if Aditya was not there to respond to her actions...!
you should have an option for "both" as well, because that would have been a perfect vote from my side...!

@pksanam: Well said....the characters do compliment each other perfectly....I guess I should have included the both option....LOL....but for now, I guess ppl can vote for 'other' if they are going for that option...unfortunately I'm not able to edit the poll at this point :S

And you make a great point....Geet may not have been as enjoyable if we didn't get to watch the way Aditya reacted to her....there is a subtle genius in the way Imtiaz sketched out Aditya's character....and the way Shahid brought it to life :-)

Geet was the life of that movie.. not to say tat Aaditya was any less! But Geet would alwayz be special to me.. Kareena poured her life and everything she had into that character.. I think that character mirror's Kareena's off screen persona. Geet is also one of the best written character depicting a young girl's dilemma... over her love life. I wish more such characters are written for our bolly actresses which are close to how desi women are and which give a chance for our actresses to roll up their sleaves and attempt something new and fresh.

Anuuuuu =P

I agree with you on this, Aditya is the reason why i liked this movie in the first place. Geet was a bubbly talkative character but it didnt leave much of an impression because somehow i didnt find it something new.

Aditya 's silence and then they way he silently understood everything, And then the way he didnt have to say much, but you could just understand what he meant in just the few words he spoke *sigh* so DREAMY 😍

according to desu, kareena is NOTHING like Geet... LOL...
but you know, i love aditya's role in the movie... how many times have i rewinded his scenes to watch his response... he was too adorable... i loved how Shahid played it... it was soo subtle... the whole change the character goes through, from the beginning of the movie beind completely uninterested in life to loving everything that he does, being impulsive... it was superb and a tough role to play for many actors... although, people think that since it was a much 'laid back' (for lack of better word) character, it must have been easier to play, which i do not agree... it had the complete potential of being a wooden performance but Shahid was perfect...
p.s. i am partial to Geet for many reasons... but yes, kareena was awesome as Geet... one of her best performances... 😃

I agree but its very rare in bolly tat a good role is etched for an actress.. so I guess I dont mind myself saying tat Kareena stole the cake.. lolz.. Desu thinks so? Dont know why but when I see Kareena she reminds me of Geet.. over the top exuberant..happy go lucky.. I will ask Desu why she thinks so!

Yeh bhi koi poochne ki gal hai?

OF COURSE, ADITYA KASHYAP!!

If I think about whom I would like to be friends with on a personal level, even then I would pick Aditya. I cannot stand girls who are hyperactive. Aditya was intelligent, mature, confuzzled, selfless, demure, sophisticated, sensible, loving and basically everything. On top of all that, he was a gentleman.

His intensity makes me think so much! Omg, and he can sing and dance.

Just look at him O_O

Sorry about the pics, I do get a bit excited when it comes to Aditya Kashyap🤪

that's too true... most of the movies are 'male dominated'... but this is the one where the actress too has just as meaty role as the actor... Imtiaz specializes in this, i have to say... in all three movies of his, his lead actresses leave a lasting impression... 😊
