However, being Aamir Khan's nephew comparisons with the actor inevitable. "I really can't help comparisons with Aamir, but let me tell you common people are not bothered with which family I come from or who in the industry I'm related to. They accepted me just for being myself in Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na," he says.
He's new in the industry but there are already reports of him not gelling well with people like Sanjay Dutt.
"I have no problems with Sanju. We know where we stand. We haven't even spoken about it (reports of fall out). He is very friendly in real life and we share a good bond," Imran adds.
With so many newcomers around like Ranbir Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Hurman Baweja, isn't there always the pressure to deliver with every movie?
"There isn't a threat from any particular person. Every body and their brothers are producers and that's the bigger threat. How many new actors do we have? Hardly four. Ranbir and I have more work than we can handle. Right now I can sign films for 10 years and still have more," he says.
Is there a genre or a character he is fascinated with, which he would like to pull off on screen? "I want to be Batman. I'm big on superhero and comic book movies. Batman is the most interesting among them all. He has no powers and so all he has acquired is through intensive training and I love the fact how motivated he is towards his goal," Imran ends.
