Even though outwardly it might look like Bollywood has gone through a major transformation, there are still lots of changes that we need. I mean, I am proud of the fact that technologically and content wise, we have come a long way. But I feel that more than change we still need to grow. Firstly, we have to stop being enamoured by what the West is doing and stop aping them blindly. I have always strongly believed that we need to stick to our roots. Hollywood is actually looking at Bollywood. They want to do what we do. We should be proud of that and continue doing what we are best at. For every musical that we make, they have a Moulin Rouge for inspiration and for every comedy that we make, they have The Hangover. So we should be proud that we provide pure entertainment value without having to be apologetic about it. Song, dance and drama comes out of our culture. We need to revel in the fact that Bollywood, or for that matter the Indian film industry, produces the most unique brand of films -- and that is our USP. Let our chests swell with pride. Growth is definitely about setting trends and not copying them. This is something that I want to inculcate in my own thought process too, to help me in my career. We need to be a lot more confident of our choices and our strengths.

So what's the latest technology that Bollywood has successfully imported from Hollywood? Well, that's the use of VFX technology.
How does it help? Well, a lot of our best scenes from the recent blockbusters were actually fakes! So, the fabulous apartment in Dostana with the skyline of Miami in the backdrop, the action of New York or even those 50,000 wild fans cheering the Chak De girls in the grand finale... sorry folks, they were 'added' to the scene.
