I too think the same thing as the poster. I think Shubhadra may have lost the first child but Shubhi and Taru may not want DM to know about it as it would sadden him that their first child is dead. Kanji Wagela's wife also may have delivered a baby around the same time and they swapped the baby with or without the knowledge of Kanji Wagela. It would also explain why Taru is more fond of Maulik than Hiten (as he is from the low caste). Even in the cow slaughter case she was not as disturbed that Hiten may be hanged as she was about Maulik.

that's the only way they make Hiten and Khemi can be together otherwise it's disgusting.

If Hiten is adopted, then would that make Khemi-Hiten relationship acceptable? So, just because he is adopted, is he no longer DM's son? Are adopted kids not considered own kids? Aren't adopted kids and biolgical kids considered siblings? I don't like this differentiation between biological kids and adopted kids, adopted kids are meant to be considered own kids.

I agree with sg08 - even if Hiten is adopted - he is still DM's son. And even if Santu is his step mother - she is still his mother.
