Adopted kids arent blood related then inter marriage etc is okay- they wont come into prohibited categories.

Since Santu and Khemi are Waghelas that would make Hiten their brother....noooooooooo!

Let Maulik be Taru's illegitimate child and hence the affection

not necessarily. There could be several Wagelas in the State isn't it? By the way why can one Wagela not marry another? Karishma Kapoor married another Kapur. didn't she?

I hope not. This will make Khemi a half sister, actually a half cousin of Hiten's.

This is wrong. Any relationship that is legally barred for a biological realtionship is also legally barred for an adoptive relationship. If two children are adopted, they are brother and sister. They cannot later be husband and wife just because there are no genetic ties. Adoption overrides blood relationships. You can disown a biological son, but you can never disown an adopted son. The adoptive relationship is legally irrevocable.

I agree gawker. Apart from all the legalities, making such a distinction between adoptive kids and biological kids is so insensitive and wrong. If an adopted kid was reading this, they would seriously get a complex. Blood is not everything, relationships matter.

Once a child is adopted, s/he is tied by every relation. There is no distinction made to alienate them. What would be the purpose to adopt them otherwise.

Can Waghelas marry Waghelas? Absolutely. Atleast in the Gujarati culture. The caste system is so convoluted, it would cause one's head to spin. Although I am a gujju I know very little. But here's an example, there's one group of Patels (biggest clan ever! 😲 is split in a variety of caste levels) that are known as chh gaam (6 town/villages) Patels. One can only marry within these chh gaams....oooppss with the 5 of the 6 villages as any boy/girl from the same village is considered a brother/sister. This would make it such that Patels only marry Patels!! 😕 oh there are a few other surnames that reside in these 6 villages but talk about rigid customs!

Anways, I am digressing but many are surprised at Motiben's behavior but it is not too uncommon. Sure she is portrayed a bit OTT but the underlying behavior is still very much common.

If Hiten is someone else's son and DM is not even aware of it, he cannot have adopted him. It is a case of DM being taken for a ride by his dead wife and his sister. So when the truth comes out, Hiten then would no longer be DM's son unless DM wants to adopt him. Hiten being an adult can then chose to be adopted or not.
