and true being a gujarati I never had heard of karva chauth till I watched it in movies.
I also don't understand who they worship and what is the broken bangles and mangal sutras are doing near something that looks swimminng pool . I don't understand who thakur worships.

True Di, il , jav , ghee , urad dal [ on Saturday havans] , rice etc r used as fire offerings . Supari , coconut etc r applied a dot of kumkum before using it for puja
karva chauth seems to be serial favourite festival ............even if Gujrathi , Bengali , Maharashtrian family is shown they show Karvva Chauth . It is actually only a north indian fast . South Indians or the middle belt dont do it or havent even heard of it .
Btw Di , loved ur comment abt the something that looks like swimming pool .😆too good .

I am not Hindu so I will not comment on that...but the saris! Not just in GKLB, but in all these shows, are ridiculous. These women walk around town with all their heavy jewelry jingling and heavy brocaded saris. If you look in the background, you'll notice that they are the only ones who are ever dressed this way. The best part is when they are walking through some shady area of town or, in this case, following FIL, thinking they won't get noticed or targeted, with all those bright colors and flashy metallics and jingling jewelry.

The part that really gets me is that they go to sleep like this. They don't even wipe off their makeup. Heaven forbid they expose their poor hubbies to their flawed faces and their actual skin color, rather than the caked on foundation that is 2 shades lighter than their skin.

😆😆😆 Happens in all the shows and I don't understand the logic of it. I personally can't stand to wear a heavy lehnga for more than four hours (the duration of an indian wedding lolll) and these women, walk around in them like it's made of cotton. Not to forget, the jewelry. I'm sure it's blazing hot there and still they wear it around their necks. Is it for a symbol of status? The men wear blazers and the women were jewelry lollll. Gauri wears those thicker necklaces that are for brides. She wore them to her honeymoon. I agree that you should be a little traditional, lekin Jaipur ki Maharani nahi banna hai.

I don't know what kind of poojas the scriptwriters attend , and what they see , but whatever they show is really utter rubbish .

I saw the pooja that the Father in law is doing secretly at night yesterday , and really it made no sense . If it is a black magic ritual , the shlokas in the background r holy , auspicious ones............like mangalam bhagwan Vishnu etc . The holy pranav syllable , Om , is repeated many times .but the pooja itself is anything but holy . The Father in law is scooping fistfuls of Haldi { turmeric ] and Kum kum { red tilak powder ] and throwing it .
Firstly , no one sits for poojas or even black magic rituals with plates full of mounds of Haldi and Kumkum like this . Hladi and Kumkum r generally in a special small box as it is applied to the god worshipped only once during the starting of the pooja..................that is the pupose of these two items . So taking a mound of Haldi and Kumkum and sitting like this makes no sense , especially outside where the wind blows , the powders will fly in the pooja doer's eyes .
Secondly , fistfuls of Hali and Kumkum r not thrown like this in any fire , even by black magic practicioners . I repeat , they r not ingredients for offerings , they r ingredients for veneration ........for showing respect to the deity by applying it on its forehead . Grains like rice , urad dal , oil , ghee r put in fire , yes ,never haldi and kumkum in fistful amounts . Tantriks use gulal and Haldi more than kumkum , yes , but for smearing it on forehead alone . Remember , even Tantriks r appeasing their God , so they will not throw fistful of powders so rudely in a fire .
They had shown Gujrathis celebrating Karva Chauth instead of Vat Savitri . There is utterly no knowledge of Indian Culture in this serial . Not only r women insulted , even our culture is insulted by these half baked knowledgewallahs . Indian culture is beautiful and ancient and unparalled . This distortion must stop . Jhanvi wears antiquated designer sarees , with heavy metallic borders ...........no woman can tolerate such heavy sarees on her body in a kitchen for a full day . This is not how Indian women dress up , this a a fancy dress party . It saddens to see our culture being portrayed like this .

I agree... half baked knowledge of poojas and one fourth baked knowledge of kidney transplants...What i found most ridiculous is the way they showed kidney transplant op for khitij n yuvraaj... either they think audience are stupid n illiterate or they are.....

I was shocked to see yuvraaj after donating his kidney was lying down on his hospital bed with his street clothes..(no surgical attire??!!)...as if he just donated blood... and on top of that he just walks out of the room holding his abs...

I have seen ppl getting new kidney...n ppl donating kidneys... its the most critical surgery for both donor n acceptor... why cant creative team of GKLB do some research...(no need of research needed these days...kidney transplants are common knowledge..) and this stupid closed door mystery..!! not again......!!😲

I think that if you take away the storyline and inconsistencies, you can also notice just HOW playful the production is. Betiyann is an amazing show for me, but they reall slap corners during filming too. I recall in today's US Episode, in the first half of Prakash had normal hair and in the second half (which occurs 30 minutes after the first event) he has a haircut. I mean, the little things count and they don't really show that they CARE to correct such issues.
I think once they fix that, then they can move on to fix the religious issues too, but they DO make up their own rules when it comes to Poojas and even the law on the show. ;___;
