I have not read previous comments on here so this is not a refutation/rebuttal from my side.
I will straightly hit the topic.
People Pleasing - a disease that unfortunately 80% of the humans around the world suffer from.
Why?
Well firstly I believe that human nature finds rejection incredibly hard to digest, thus, we all like to be associated with groups or certain clicks.
Secondly, many of us are simply afraid to throw out our opinions, so people pleasing comes in handy.
Thirdly, I have noticed folks tend to believe that diplomacy or people pleasing is a stepping ladder to success. Examples of this sort can be seen at offices, schools, universites etc.
Fourthly, few are also hesitant to speak out their feelings because some issues are considered taboo in our society. Gay rights and such.
Fifthly I am going to present a personal example. Starting off, I am definitely not a people pleaser as I tend to strongly believe in my views. Having said that, I am certainly not un-cooperative and love to hear the other side to the story. So hear goes my personal example: I have noticed many members on IF that have the habit of pleasing certain mods to get in their good books. Smart people. I have also seen the mods reciprocating back to the members in special ways. Obviously other members who do not do that may be at a loss if that applies to them. So my point here is that heck, who does not like people pleasing!
RAJ! PLEASE DON'T THINK I AM POINTING AT YOU! 😆 IT'S JUST AN EXAMPLE.
I am talking to you here as a member. By the way you are awesome! *Makes sure to please him* 😆
Awesome topic dude! By the way please tell me that you are NOT a people pleaser! Ok! haha!
Don't know if my post was an argument, but I just laid out my opinion on the topic.
OHHH, you changed the debate topic. I just read pg 3. I will make sure to comment on it tomorrow. 😊
