even though the majority of religious beliefs in india/hindustan/bharat is hindu there are still other religious beliefs that we still need to respect such as the sikh, the jain, the christian, the islam who are still equally the citizen of india/hindustan/bharat despite whatever religion the believe in, whatever religious beliefs that they practice. the indian/hindustan/bharat sense of nationalism should surpass the ethnicity groups and religious differences that only cause further seperation and disunity of the great country. so no matter what the name is whether it is india or hindustan or bharat, the citizen of india should first and foremost think themselves as indians/hindustanis/bharatiya or whatever other names in other languages rather than hindus indian/hindustani/bharatiya, muslim indian/hindustani/bharatiya or any other religious affliations. the sense of nationalism of a person to their countries should not be mixed with their sense of religious beliefs whatever that may be. therefore, it doesn't matter whether the name that we want to use is india/hindustan/bharat or whether we want to call it hindustan just because they rhymed with hindus religion. it's all the same.

I agree. If it changes back, it should be changed to Bharatvarsha, but that's too hard for foreigners to pronounce so Hindustan would be the next choive, but I do want it to change. I mean, Bombay switched back to Mumbai, and there are lots of other places in India that changed its names back, so why not India itself?

Well said!👏 India sounds equally sweet whether it is called Aryavrat, Bharatvarsh, Hindustan, or India. Aryavrat was the first name of India, used since the days of Ramayan/Mahabharat. I think it is a Sanskrit word.

hey but there are a lot of people who still said mumbai as bombay, kolkatta as calcutta and many other more. i don't think you have to revert it back just depends on the individual itself which one they want to use to refer india as india/hindustan/bharat.

I meant that it is Mumbai on maps and all that. Of course some people still call it Bombay, and that's totally fine. I'm just saying that it "officially" changed to Mumbai.

yes yes of course it is 'officially' changed to mumbai now. but india's formal official name is also republic of india or in hindi it is called bharat ganarajya. so it is also officially called bharat.
