Satia and Ranjini talk about Neela after the prayers. Satia tells Ranjini not to forget her duty. Ranjini feels sad she cannot see her mother. Satia tells her not to worry because no matter where her mother is, she will be watching over her. Ranjini says eventhough her father was a thief but after marrying Neela, he had changed. Satia agrees but says that fate had decided otherwise. Satia says that Rajkumar was a good man and that is why Ranjini had turn out to bee good. Ranjini again says that it is her fate that she is an orphan but Satia says Ranjini should not say she is an orphan because until he says so, she is not. Ranjini looks at Satia and Satia says how can she be an orphan when she has parents and sibling. Satia says that his aim is to see Ranjini settled in life with family. Satia says that he had been a recluse for 27years and has only now come out because of Ranjini. He says he ws even angry with God and that is why he has does not put vibuthi on his forehead. He will only apply vibuthi on his forehead when God has shown him that justice had been done. Ranjini is shocked to hear this.

Chandra's uncle looks at the calender on the wall and counts something. Chandra comes there and asks if he is looking for a wedding date for him. Chandra tells her uncle not to think about his wedding. Uncle says that he was looking at the calender as the date given to Supni has ended. He tells Chandra that they ahve to decide whether to lease the land to the lessor or do something else. Chandra says that that will never happen. Uncle says Neelambari has to come if they want the land. Chandra says if Neela comes, the land will not be theirs and as Neela is dead, that is not going to happen. She says she will create a Neelambari who will listen to her. She then tells her uncle about how she come to the present status. Chandra boasts about how she is able to do anything she wants. Uncle says he too wants the 1000 acres of land because that means they can even buy the entire city. Chandra says that she wants to become the richest woman in the city and will make that happen and laughs happily.

Some men enter Sangeetha's house and tell his men to take out all the furniture. MIL asks why they are taking all the things and the leader says it is his wish to send everything to the temple. MIL calls Uma and she comes out and asks what is happening. The men asks what about the $25,000 loan she helped her friend Swetha from the beauty parlor to get. The date for returning the money had lapsed and wants the money back. The men says he gave loan because he feels the house is worth much more. Uma tells the men she has no money now and asks them to come back in a month. The men asks Uma to sign a document but Uma refuses. One of the man holds MIL and threaten to hurt her if Uma does not sign the document. Uma has no choice but to sign. The leader tells Uma that the total amount owed with interest is now $40,000. The leader is happy and leaves saying that Uma now owes 1 lakh and that what she has signed for in the document. Uma is dumbstruck.

Sangeetha returns home and sees the men coming out from her house and asks them who they are and why they came. The man shows Sangeetha the documents. At home MIL and Uma argue about the money owed. Sangeetha comes in and asks who the men are and why they were there. MIL tells Sangeetha about the money Uma borrowed. Sangeetha asks why Uma borrowed the money but Uma tells her mother that it is a loan she got ans she will know how to return it and her mother should not ask about it. Sangeethat says they will be shamed. Uma says her mother has brought more sham to the family and this is nothing. Sangeetha turns to her MIL and says that her MIL is at fault for poisoning Uma's mind since she was a baby. Sangeetha than decides that Uma should leave the house. Uma refuses saying that the house is her fathers and she has a share. Sangeetha says the house was left to all four of them and now there is a heavy mortgage on the house. Uma then tells her mother she will leave the house and goes in to pack her bag. MIL cries to Sangeetha but Sangeetha tells her that Uma needs to get out so that she will learn about life and keeps quiet. Uma comes out with her bag and challenges her mother that she will show her mother she is able to live without her an walks out. Sangeetha just watches. THODARUM.

Some priests are doing pooja at an Amman temple. Ranjini goes there and prays. Ranjini tells Amman that it is in her power to make people the way they are. She says that she had been living happily with people she taught her family but now she has come to know that she is an orphan and now she has a duty to do. She says all this is because she has to do something. She tells Amman that Chandra has done wrong and Amman must take action through her and she should show her way. She cites the Mahabartham and wants Amman to show others that justice will be done through her. She asks Amman to give her the strength to take revenge on Chandramathi. She asks Amman to show her the way and closes her eyes to pray. Chandramathi comes there and sees Ranjini praying intently. Chandra looks at Amman and Ranjini and smiles.

Chandra puts her hand on Ranjini and Ranjini opensher eyes to see Chandra. Ranjini eyes are bloodshot and has angry tears but just looks at Chandra and then turns to Amman. Chandra tells Ranjini she wanted to see her that is why she came. She tells Ranjini she heard about the case and how Ranjini has been suspended. Chandra tells Ranjini that she is there to take care of Ranjini. She tells Ranjini to throw those who did not know her value and had discarded her and she will take Ranjini with her and make her a queen. Ranjini listens quietly and looks at Amman and smiles. After thinking for a few moments, Ranjini turns to Chandra and says that she appreciates Chandra's gesture and accepts her offer. She thanks Chandra for giving her a chance to show her aptitute and gratitute. Chandra tells her that Amman has shown Chandra a good path and that Ranjini should follow the path. Ranjini looks at Amman, prays and follows Chandra. A fes beggars asks for alms, Chandra leaves, but Ranjini looks at the beggars and imagines Chandra sitting with the beggers begging and smiles. Amman is shown again and someone ring the temple bell.

Uma goes to Swetha's house. Swetha is surprised to see Uma with her bags. Uma tells Swetha she came out of the house and says Swetha is part of the reason. Uma tells her about the man who loaned the money. Her mother came to know about it and she fought with her mother and came out. Swetha tells Uma that she works at the beauty parlor to support her family and if she has the money, she would help. Uma tells her she understands and she only wants a place to stay for a month, nothing else. Swetha tells her she can stay for as long as she wants. Swetha advises Uma to go back if her mother comes and asks her to go back. Uma tells Swetha she will leave if she talks about her mother. Swetha apologizes and tells Uma she has to leave for work and asks Uma to eat and rest. Uma asks Swetha to see about a job for her and Swetha says ok and leaves.

Chandra and her uncle goes to the office. Chandra asks one of her employee to send some papers for approval for a building they are to build. The employee tells Chandra to go the proper way but Chandra tells her she wants to start building the complex in two months and tells the man to do what she tells him to and leaves. A lady comes to Chandra and tells her that Ranjini is there to see her. Chandra tell the lady to get Ranjini's appointment order ready and goes into her cabin. Chandra is shocked to see Ranjini seated on her seat. Chandra and her uncle just stare at Ranjini. Ranjini gets up smiling and greets Chandra. Ranjini tells Chandra that she has joined that day and asks her what her duties are. Chandra tells Ranjini to forget she is Ranjini but to take power as Chandramathi. She tells Ranjini that all company powers are given to her and she should take charge. Chandra give Ranjini $50,000 as advance and tells Ranjini to start her work and leaves. Ranjini takes the money and thanks Chandra and after Chandra leaves. Ranjini tells herself that Chandra is giving the money and power she took from Neelambari and handing it over to her. She says she will take it as an advance to destroy Chandra. THODARUM.

Dec 4 (Thurs):

Customs officer asks his daughter why she is so happy. She tells her father that someone who cares for her has succeeded in life and that is why she is happy. He asks her who it is and she says it is his former employee Ranjini. Father laughs and says that he knows about it because Ranjini is like a daughter to him and tells her to check with the florist if he has sent the flowers he had ordered and gives his daughter a card. Daughter is surprised but happy.

Ranjini goes home and calls her mother. Rajagopal comes down and asks what is the matter. Ranjini gives him a box of sweets and tells him that she has got a job at Chandra's Group of Companies. Saradha comes and Ranjini gives her $47,500 and says Chandra gave her advance $50,000 and she has used $2500. Rajagopal asks what he she had done with the money. Ranjini takes out a watch and gives to her father saying she used the money to buy the watch. Saradha is not happy that Ranjini got a job. She tells Ranjini that she will be happier to see Ranjini get married. Ranjini tells her she has to take care of some matters and after oneyear she will get married as her mother wants. Rajagopal tells Saradha that Ranjini is not fierce like before when she was a customs officer. God has put her in her place. Saradha tells Rajagopal that she to is surprised that God had put to different kind of people in one family. She tells Rajagopal that that Ranjini is a role model for woman but Rajagopal is an example what a father should not be. Rajagopal feels that his wife is more daring now and talks bad and this cannot continue.

Meena brings Chandra's daughter Aishwarya home and invites her to eat with them. Karthik objects but his mother and sister tells Aishwarya not to listen to Karthik and they sit down to eat. While eating, Aishwarya starts poking fun and irritates Karthik. Meena reminds them that she is there and they should control themselves.

Chitra returns home and finds Uma there and asks her what she is doing in the house. Swetha comes out and tells Chitra that Uma has come to see her and she will be staying with her. Chitra gets angry and says Uma cannot stay there but Swetha tells her nothing doing and she has already got permission from the houseowner. Chitra gives Uma 24 hours to get out. Swetha apologizes to Uma for Chitra's behavior. Uma says it is okay. Swetha tells Uma to be confident and she will come up in life.

Chandra sits in the yard thinking. Uncle comes there and asks what she is thinking about. Chandra tells her uncle she is thinking about Supni and how to get the land documents from him. Uncle says he too is thinking baout it. Chandra tells her uncle that she has Ranjini and will use her to trick Supni into giving the documents. Uncle is sceptical and feels that Supni is too smart to be fooled. Chandra says Ranjini may not know about Neelambari but she does and will make sure Supni does not suspect anything and gives her evil laugh. THODARUM.

Dec 9 (Tues):

Continues from yesterday. Karthik comes to Uma's rescue and fights off the rowdies (Cuma solakudathu - serianna hero thaan, ore aadi the rowdies run off). Karthik tells Uma to follow him. He takes Uma to a ladies hostel and gets admitted there. He gives the matron his address and telsphone no for contact. The matron says the fees is $3500 a month and wants one month advance. Kathik takes out some money but is still short of a $1000. He asks tells the lady he is short and will give her the balance the next day. At first the warden says that cannot be done but after Karthik tells the matron that he is Customs officer Ranjini's brother, the lady says she is very proud of Ranjini's achievement and agrees. Uma just looks without saying anything. The matron then goes in to get Uma's room ready. Karthik tells Uma not to worry about anything. Uma tells Karthik that she will return the money he spent as soon as possiblebut Karthik tells her no hurry. He asks Uma she has any pocket money and Uma says she has. Kasthuri gives her $500 and tells her to keep it, saying he had put the money aside before paying the matron.

Nithya and the others are at the Customs office. The useless officer , Pandian goes to Nithya and asks if she had breakfast and Nithya tells him off and leaves. Nithya's cell rings and Pandian answers. It is Nithya's cousin Rekha who wants to speak with Nithya but Pandian starts talking nonsense. Rekha asks to speak with Nithya an when he tells her that she is not around she asks for Ranjini and Pandian tells her about how Nithya is also responsible for Ranjini's suspense. Nithya comes back and Pandian hands over the cell. Rekha tries to tell Nithya something that happened at her work place but the line disconnects.

Two men are talking about smuggling diamonds and is overheard by Rekha. The men see her and chase her into a house and lock her in. The men want to use Rekha for their smuggling. After the men leave, Rekha tries to leave but cannot as the door is locked from outside. She writes something on a piece of paper and sits down worried. Nithya is working on her computer. The chief and another officer come there and asks Nithya if she had switched off her cell. Nithya nods her head. The officer tells Nithya to brace herself and tells her that Rekha who had gone overseas, died of some shock and her body is being flown back the next day. The officer tells Nithya to inform Rekha's mother. The officer offers his condolences and if any help is needed, to let him know and leaves. Nithya cries her eyes out.

Satia is reading the newspaper. His man servant is on his way out and Satia asks where he is going. The servant tells him he is going to the market to buy vegetables but Satia says vegetables are very expensive and tells him to just buy something cheap and gives him some money. Ranjini comes there and watches the fun and asks Satia what the tension is. Satia tells him about the high price of grocery and how people are suffering. He says after some time people will get use to it. Satia then asks what Chandramathi is doing and saying these days. Ranjini says Chandramathi treats her very well. Satia tells Ranjini to be careful as Chandra must be planning something big. Ranjini then tells about the incident at the office and how Chandra had behaved. Satia says Chandra is not a person to change overnight. While they are talking, Manoj arrives. Manoj scolds his periappa for getting Ranjini suspended. Ranjini says periappa did the right thing and she will join as soon as the suspension is over. Manoj tells Ranjini that Nithya's sister Rekha had called for her. Ranjini calls Rekha's phone and is informed that Rekha dies of electric shock. Ranjini and Manoj are both shocked at this news. THODARUM.

Nithya and her Chitti (Rekha's mother) wait for the plane bringing Rekha's body. Chitti cries and Nithya triess to console her. Her boss also comes and conveys his condolences. The body arrives in a glass casket and seeing this Rekha's mother bursts out crying. Everyone is gathered at the cemetary and more crying. The men then take Rekha's body away for burial amids the mother's cry. Ranjini tries to console Rekha's mother but is unable to stop her crying. When Rekha is being taken for burial a man standing some distance away from them look around.

The caretaket tell the people to do the final rites. Rekha's mother refuses at first then throws dirt into the grave (I don't understand why they must show all this - too much sogam😭😭). Ranjini is at home thinking. Saradha goes to her and asks her to eat but Ranjini says she is not hungry. Saradha asks if Ranjini is not well. Ranjini tells her mother that she is very disturbed by Rekha's death. She tells Saradha how Rekha had treated her as her own sister and had been very bubbly. Saradha too feels sad. Ranjini says Rekha would hae ambitions and now it is all gone with her. Karthik too comes there and and tries to console Ranjini. He tells Ranjini that he had tried to call her but her phone was switched off. Meena too comes there and ask for Ranjini's phone. Ranjini says it is in her room but Meena says it is not there. Ranjini then says it could have fallen at the graveyard. Both Ranjini and Karthik go to the cemetary and look for the phone. Ranjini sees Rekha's grave had been exhumed and the body not there. Ranjini is shocked and tells Karthik. They want to ask the caretaker but he is too drunk to say anything but says someone game him a lot of money to dig there so he took the money and told then to go ahead. When Ranjini asks who, he is unable to say anything.

Chandramathi playing pool and tells a man that it was a sure shot because she was very confident. She tells the man that she had never missed a shot. She makes another shot and the man says there must be an opponent who watches her play and will beat her but Chandramathi says there is none. The man, Chandramohan they must be one but Chandramathi asks if he knows who the person is and Chandramohan days that she will not know. The man then asks about the 2000 acres of land and is not sure that Chandramathi will get the land and he does not want to invest more money. Chandra asks the man why the doubt and Mohan says he has confirmed with a reliable source and out comes Supni and tells Chandramathi that the man has asked him to come and tell Chandra what he had told him. Supni tells Chandra that Neelambari is the rightful owner of the land and not Chandramathi. Chandramohan asks if the land does not belong to Chandra and Supni says it is not Chandra's but Neelambari's and Chandra can never become the owner and leaves. Chandra tells Mohan that his questions will be answered soon.

Ranjini and Karthik go back to the graveyard and see Rekha's grave empty. A few yard away, the caretaker is lying on the ground. Karthik tries to wake him up but can't. Ranjini asks what is wrong and Karthik says he is dead. Another shock for Ranjini. THODARUM.

Manohar is playing with his children. Nithya comes to see him and gives him some documents in an envelope and tells him that she had checked it many times but found nothing. Manohar says he too don't see anything. Manohar asks where Rekha had been working and is told in Dubai. He feels that someone must have smuggled something in the body. Nithya tells Manohar that Rekha had called and spoken to Pandian but when she got on the line, it got disconnected. She feels Rekha must have called to tell her something. Manohar tells Nithya to leave as he will think what to do.

Dotty at Chandra's office tell the staff that Chandra is seriously ill and that doctors are treating her. Ranjini comes there and asks what is going on. Dotty tells her that Chandra is very sick. Ranjini wants to go see Chandra but Dotty says no one is allowed to visit the madam. Ranjini tells her she will take care of that and leaves.

Sangeetha goes to see Uma. Uma is very rude and asks if she had come to see if she is alive or dead. Also to see if she is working or is doing some other business. Sangeetha asks Uma to come back but Uma refuses. Sangeetha asks if this is her final decision and Uma says no it is the begnining and will show her mother and repay all her debts. Sangeetha says that is not possible because she owes loan sharks with high interest rates and they will not stop until they have taken everything from her and leaves. Uma just look on with no respect.

Chandra in bed. Her mother, brother and uncle are with her. Mother is looking out for Ranjini and says she is not sure if Ranjini will come. They see Ranjini coming and Chandra immediately pretend to be unconcious. Mother cries saying why Chandra should try to kiil herself. Ranjini asks what is wrong and Rajalakshmi says, Chandra tried to commit suicide because someone had cheated her. Ranjini asks what is wrong. Chandra says nothing and for Ranjini to go back to the office. Rajalakshini pretends to be very worried and tries to tell Ranjini something. Chandra stops her and asks them to go out. After they left, Ranjini asks what is wrong and if Chandra does not tell her, she will resign immediately. Chandra says she cannot loose Ranjini because she needs her. Ranjini thanks her for her confidence and asks why she tried to commit suicide. Chandra tells Ranjini that she had a sister named Neelamabari who had 1000 acres of land and now is being leased to to a man named Loganathan and Supni. Ranjini asks is Neelambari is her own sister. Chandra says no, but they were more than sisters. Chandra cries and tells that Neelambari wanted to build a trust for under previleged children and factories and create jobs for people. She died before she could do it and Chandra says she wants to make Neelambari's dream come true and that is her ambition. She says she has failed because Supni refuses to hand over the land to her despite her begging him. Chandra says Neelambari is dead and Supni says Neelambari must go and see him only than he will agree to give the land back. Ranjini asks if there is no other way. Chandra tells her there is but Ranjini must become Neelambari.

Ranjini asks how can she become Ranjini. Neelambari says it can be done because Ranjini looks like Neelambari, beloved dead sister. Chandra says Ranjini would only have to see Supni for 5 minutes. Supni will not be able to tell the difference. Chandra says she knows that it is against the law to impersonate another person and will understand if Ranjini refuses. Ranjini thinks to herself that Chandra is digging her own grave. Chandra is happy to see Ranjini think and is confident that Ranjini will agree. As Chandra expected, Ranjini agrees and wants to know when and how. Ranjini then asks what happens if Supni becomes suspicious and wants to know how Neelambari is alive. Chandra tells Ranjini she will bring up a story that Neelambari was in a fire and escaped and had amnesia and only now had regained her memory. Chandra says not to worry as she will handle the problem. Chandra feels very proud of herself that her plan had worked and Ranjini has ageed to help her and success is at her feet. At the same time Ranjini thinks that now begins Chandra's downfall and she will never feel success from now onwards. Ranjini leaves telling Chandra not to worry. After Ranjini leaves, Chandra wipes her crocodile tears and happily calls her mother to come in. THODARUM.
