While Mumbai was being taken hostage by some young college going terrorists, there were a few who defied the odds and refused to cow down to the terror unleashed by them. Akshay Kumar leading from the front shot for his film, De Dana Dan at Mehboob Studios in Bandra.

Director Priyadarshan said, "Before the shoot commenced, the entire crew of 250 people including the cast observed a one minute silence for all those who died fighting and protecting our country."

Producer Ratan Jain said, "The shoot was of a normal shift from 9am to 5pm. Since it was a song sequence that was being picturised on Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Sunil Shetty and Sameera Reddy, some 60 odd dancers were also present. Choreographed by Prasanna, the shoot started on schedule."

Sunil Shetty who stays in the Malabar Hills area, around 5 kilometres from the epicenter of the attacks braved the odds to shoot for his film.
Sameera Reddy and Akshay Kumar drove from the suburb of Andheri while Katrina Kaif hopped across from her house in Bandra to shoot for the film.

To sum it up, Sunil Shetty said, "Mumbai's spirit has come through inspite of all the terror attacks. We refuse to be scared and that's why it was important fro me to go about my daily work."

De Dana Dan was perhaps the only Bollywood crew who shot on Thursday.
