The internet provides children with a tremendous opportunity to learn. A child needs every opportunity it can get and must get complete and unrestricted freedom to operate it's parents computers. It may be the ultimate liberal view, but my strong belief is children become what they want good or bad the development is for their own good. In our family the children get ready in the morning watching cartoons, and even have their breakfast with it. Evenings the horrible adults hog the svideo cable to watch violent meaningless suntv shows. Weekends again the internet is a powerful tool. Children can get to play games through which they gain considerable knowledge.

When we were children obviously such a tool was never available. Why deny the new generation the best road to the future?

I would give my nephews freedom to use the computer, but I will be there to watch their movement.
We have parental ruling in the house. Cartoon from this hour to this hour. Computer from this hour to this hour. Similarly homework, play time, etc. Meals should be in dining room and no other places.
Just over Friday, I read in papers that in UK, children stole their parents credit card and made purchases via internet. The percentage was quite high.
