Jenim,Oh yeah.. my kids too brought two big loads of candies 😃 and me too worrying about the same... Dentist visit! (but poor thing they both weren't eating much yet, as they both were sick for 3-4 days in this week. 😭 My son started this time. He caught some stomach flu from school and over the weekend was throwing up for all 3 days starting Friday. Then it was my daughter who was sick with same stomach issue and had diaheria for the next 3-4 days and she is OK only today.)My hubby got couple of big bags of candies from Costco and I have bought some from other store too... (since last year we got so many kids at the neighbourhood, I want to make sure that I won't run out of candies....😉). So I had a huge collection to start with , and was giving a lot of candies to all the kids who showed up .... and while I was all happy that I almost emptied all that we bought from shops, my kids came back with their collection... oh my god.. Now I still have a lot of them with me..... which I should hide from (my 😆) eyesight... as well! 😃😳 Oh, to answer to yours.. my daughter was Gabriella from HSM2 and my little one was a Black Spiderman! 😊
Thanks a lot Jenim & eljay for your feedback! 😃 Then, what are you waiting for Jenim?! Make them again & enjoy! Take a picture and share with us this time. 😊

Jenim, I can fully understand your little one hating that Nebulizer. My son used to hate the medication even more, the theophyllin sprinkles. We tried it in his cereal, he used to spit it up, so we used to mix in his curd rice, he hated that too, and finally we took to putting it in a spoonful of strawberry jam. Poor kid, he used to take that, and I tasted it one day and found it was absolutely bitter, like having ten pavakkais in one gulp.
Thank God those days are over. I know I am repeating myself but it does come to an end, eventually. I tried everything I could think of or read about, every home remedy, but what finally worked were the allergy shots, though it took us about 10 years of suffering to get to that point. The good thing was that after he turned about 6 or 7, we got out of the hospital visits, so I counted that as a positive change. I still blame him for all my grey hairs!
In the meantime, my only outlet was to find new recipes to try out in the kitchen! Thus my passion for cooking!
Jenim,
I truly understand how your little one must be feeling about those Nebulizer sittings! oh Gosh, that's so tough, challenge for parents to go thru too. Altogether it's painful. Been there, done that!
As far as my little one, we have had this treatment going on from almost the time he was born. He caught his first cold when he was 11 days and that developed into an ear infection when he was just 25 days old... Ouch 😭 He was given to take antibiotics and we were asked to do this nebulizer thingy (albutrol is the medicine name along with some saline spray mixed to it) to ease up his nasal congestion. 10-15 minutes several times of a day. I felt so pity for him at those times. He would shake his head, body to try to get that mask away from him, and he can't even say any words to express! Poor baby, with his fully stuffed nose he won't be able to drink the milk at his meal times, so every time I nurse him he would try a few times and give up after the stuffy nose struggle but obviously would be hungry 😭 with empty stomach and would cry all day long , couldn't sleep well. Seeing all this, I cry too. My God, even while I'm writing this, I feel so sad when thinking about those toughest days in our life. My Mom was here at that time with us and she was the one giving me all the courage & strength other than my hubby, of course! Even after those tough few months, he often catches ear infection, just like that, quite often. Then as he grew the second worst problem started, acid reflex - throwing up food, I remember those moments - Naan kashtappattu ennavellamo vilaiyattu katti baby food kuduththuttu cup, spoon-ai sink-la poi poottutu varathukkulla he would throw up everything... This reflex thingy was there with him till he reached 1 year. Thank God he came out of it now finally. (Touchwood!) Then the allergy stuff, like dad like son - he too is allergic to pollens. Oh my... what else is there?! So we gave him, Children's Clairton..., which I still, have stock! OK, as usual ithuvum romba long posting-a pochi!😳
You probably have lots of concerns about the foods you give to your child. Is it a nutritious meal? Will your child eat it? Is there too much fat? But one thing that may not cross your mind as you're slicing and dicing in the kitchen is food safety.
Why is food safety so important? Proper food preparations are necessary to prevent your family from becoming sick from food-borne illnesses caused by bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter and Listeria (which can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration). Food safety precautions include knowing how to select foods in the grocery store, how to store them, how to cook them, and how to clean up afterward.
So what can you do to make sure your kitchen and the foods you prepare are safe?
