I realize this sounds harsh, but I was SO annoyed today with her tears when all those guys surrounded her. Why is soo weak???? I think tomorrow Samrat will come for her rescue, but really its high time they stopped showing the "damsel in distress" scenario on television..

chill. this is just the start of the show. gunjan's character is characterized in such a way that she is soo calm and quiet. if she cant even talk loudly with samrat, what will she talk with strangers. gunjan is all new to the place. how can u expect her to change soo soon. she will definitely become strong when time comes.

It is completely new plase to her. on the top of it she was left alone by others. she is a shy girl and cannot even talk loudly. what else can she do?? and poor thing was trying soo hard to control her tears. she was holding her tears in her eyes. i like gunjan

In reality, not everyone is so strong and confident...what may be normal to you may be abnormal for others....I'm sure Gunjan's character will grow stronger with time...and she will be able to stand up for herself...I think I'm pretty independent but when I'm all alone at night in a dark parking lot, I pretty much speedwalk to my car....unfortunately sometimes girls are put in certain positions like this, and that fear will always be there....and Gunjan is already sooo shy and reserved....it'll take time for her to control her emotions....

Actually, I like Gunjan's character and I think she is fine the way she is...I mean this is the first time Gunjan is in such a big city and nothing like this happened to her before so it will take time for her to get used to all this...
On the other hand, I'd say, YES, she does need to get stronger and start to answer everyone back and don't have tears in her eyes, but yet again, seeing she is from a small city, it'll take time for her to get used to it.

I don't hate Gunjan.

But is it right for her to show her tears to guys who are eager to tease her?

True. But we can't just show our emotions to such guys. Sometimes its difficult to control our tears, but from what I have seen of Gunjan so far she is always on the verge of crying..

Frankly, I grew up watching soaps with women crying all the time.. On Indian tv I never watched a serial where the main lady was strong and I think had I watched a stronger protagonist I would have been a much stronger person today. Is it the right message to pass such a audience? I have seen girls be dependent on guys (thinking he is their prince charming coming to their rescue) and then when the guy turns out to be a jerk they are heartbroken. Its really sad to see.

In this serial we know Samrat will eventually turn out to be good. But what about reality when we cannot predict whether a guy will be right or not??!

Actually Gunjan confuses me sometimes, because in the first week after she became aware of the pranking, she became more resolute and determined and told Nupur that this was too much and she wouldn't tolerate it. And I admired her there, it showed the strength of her convictions.

Now she's back to crying, and fearing people, though I do think in this situation her fear is justifiable, she must have felt hopeless when the guys surrounded her. But the problem is they showed her to be a strong gal mentally, and now she's painted as a damsel in distress... Or maybe I'm just overanalysing.....
