Aishwarya Rai was Hancock's first choice

Indian actress Aishwarya Rai was Will Smith's first choice for Hancock over Oscar-winning Charlize Theron but the actress declined. Smith, who by his own admission is a great fan of Aishwarya, is not disappointed and believes that they will share good on screen chemistry. I would love to work with Aishwarya. She is gorgeous. I had even offered her roles with me. In fact for Hancock also she was my first preference over Charlize," he revealed. The actor is still hopeful that would work together in future. "I received denials all the times, may be she had some justified problems. But of course, I will do anything to work with Aishwarya," said a hopeful Smith. The Independence Day actor, whose latest superhero flick Hancock releases in India on July 11 is also a huge fan of Indian films industry and is currently exploring possibilities of working in an Indian film. "I would love to work in an Indian film. I have seen a couple of Bollywood movies which had impressed me a lot. I also had a word with Karan Johar. Let's see what's there in store," said the actor. "I love Indian cinema and its actors. Their energy level is just incompatible. The songs and dances in Bollywood movies are just amazing," he added. Ask about his favourite Indian actors: and Smith, who was last seen in the much acclaimed Pursuit of Happyness comes up with a list of top most actors in Bollywood. Of course, Aishwarya figures on top followed by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. "Amitabh Bachchan is a rocking man. Witnessing him and his mania all over India, I too have decided to rename myself to Big W. Shah Rukh Khan is another actor who is a great buzz there," says Smith. Already popular among Indian moviegoers, the actor is all praise for the Indian audience and hopes his latest flick will also enjoy similar love from them. "I thank them with all my heart for watching my films with a keen interest and hope the same for Hancock too. Indian audience are very sensible and I expect that my film will receive warmth in manifolds." Touched by Indian hospitality, Smith says he had a fun time during his last visit here and would love to visit India again. "I received a lot of love and a hearty welcome from all in India. I would surely love to be back to India and try and deal out something really good.

"The one word which I could learn very easily and which touched my heart is for all the Indians, Namastey India," he says.

i dunno why ash would decline will smith and make foreign movies only with indian directors and the movies always flops.

Now think if she had done Hitch, Hancock and other major movies where she would be.

I agree with you. She declines these A-grade flicks, but would rather do C grade flicks like the Mistress of Spices and the Last Legion.

i saw Hancock.. and aish would b pretty good!!!..

and yeah i agree with u guys.. shes always declining good film offers..but accepts well not so good ones

Why Ash isnt working with him?? god only knows 😕
on second thoughts, Charlize was the good choice for that role in Hancock 😃bcoz I donno if Ash would have pulled it off or not? 😆

I guess she rejects the A-grade movies as "Kiss" and "Exposing" might be a great factor.

If a girl is not ready to shed her inhibitions or values then it is difficult to gain a status in Hollywood...its normal there but in India it would be a great deal.

But one thing is sure that Will Smith really....really....wants to work with ASh. She has lefta very positive mark on him....and here we are always degrading her by comapring her to other not so competitive actresses. Ash is where she is merely by the way she has carried herself - Dignity. In th eend everyone admire that quality in woman.

In the film shabd she had quite a few explicit scenes with Sunjay Dutt and let's not forget the kiss and exposing she done in Dhoom 2.

Will isn't the only Hollywood celebrity who wants to work with her. Daniel Radcliff is also a big fan.
