So much is written aboutVidya. Be it her dress sense, her age, her face etc.

But no one has ever written so much about the job that she is here for - Acting.

She is one of th ebest actress around in bollywood. She in th emould of - Jaya Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, Meena Kumari etc. And al these are teh actressess till known for their work not their glamarous image.

And what age are we talking about isn't Rani 31, ASh 33, Bipasha 28, Kareena 29 and so on....

She didn't have any famous name tyo her thatsh why she had to start it from TV and then enter the industry.

I think people would appreciated what she has done in her little acting career. Atleast like spme actress she is not looking SAME and STALE all the time. Every pictur of hers has a different Avataar.

And now in Kismet Konnection she looks gorgeous and different from Bhool Bhuliya.....she is not KAreena but who wants to be her anyways....

I like Vidya a lot... she was really under rated for her acting in Bhool Bhulaiya and she was awesome in Parineeta, even her emotional scenes in Salaam E Ishq were superb. I don't really care how old the actresses are as long as they act well... cos that's what we as an audience expect.... even Rani is not in her early twenties but she is fabulous 😛 everyone seems to have an issue about her weight but she looks nice atleast she is not on some starvation diet 😉 being skinny does not suit everyone 😕

However I love Vidya's eyes they are magical and her chemistry with Madhavan 😳

There was another very talented actress Manisha koirala..she too believed that it was only her talent that mattered and was too lazy to exercise or take care of her appearance and was very defensive..while the others like Karishma,Ash,Shilpa etc sweated it out.Well they were rewarded with longer careers!Look at Kate Winslet,after Titanic,she just let herself go and her career fluctuated with her appearance.

look at SRK,he knew he was cast opposite a young girl..he made every effort to match her physically.people like Hrithik,Amir,salman,kareena,sonam,deepika,Bipasha..in fact every actor, actress puts in a lot of Time and effort and energy to keep fit..not because they are narcissists but their jobs demand it.

Some of us may feel protective,but it is a tough competitive world,People are talking about Vidya's age and weight..and it is not good news for her!She simply must put in more effort..a shockingly deep cleavage is just not enough!

P.S.Aziz Mirza doesn't ever make make sexy films(K.Konnection)..Her recent magazine covers is nothing but desperation and the film industry insiders known to be cruel must be sniggering!

Vidya is my favourite Bollywood actress. I fell in love with her acting in Parineeta and I don't think she has ever acted "badly" in any movie till date. Same cannot be said for any other actress...Kareena and Rani are talented actresses, but there are movies where they've been embarrassingly BAD. No movie which had Vidya has been unendurably unwatchable till now.


Vidya is a classic, conventional beauty. To my way of thinking, she is one of the most beautiful actresses today. I don't give a monkey's what people think about her weight or her dressing sense. But that's just me. Die hard fans are always frightfully biased, I have no qualms in admitting to it.

And anyway, what is the point in having a hourglass/emaciated figure. Kareena was super skinny in Tashan, could anybody sit through the movie? The same Kareena did spectacularly well in Jab We Met where she was fully clothed in simple outfits. Tanisha Mukherjee bared everything in Neil and Nikki, the film was flagrantly BAD. So what does it matter how fat or thin an actress is? I mean, I can understand if Vidya tries to squeeze herself into a pair of hotpants or a cleavage shirt, but she dresses decently for most part. So what's the fuss?

Vidya is not obese, full stop. We blame stars for their obsession over weight, but as an audience, we're not willing to accept a "healthy" female star. We confer all kinds of soubriquets and are dreadfully rude about the weight of actresses. Sad, but true!

I agree with you wholeheartedly, they are in the profession of acting where they should be judged on that, what does physical attributes have anything to do wtih that ........nothing unless the role demands them to look glamourous and thin.

dont plus sized females or people who areon the healthy side, are not beautiful or never fall in love or find love, why is this major portrayal of people like lead actresses have to look skinny and what not...

Thats why I like Hollywood, there is space for actresses and actors and its not based on physical appearances alone.

There is Meryl streep who still manages to bag lead roles and act wonderfully even in this age.Her singing and dancing in Mamma Mia is sooo wonderful.

Theres Jack Nicholson, theres Morgan Freeman, theres Jennifer Hudson who was plus sized and did a fantastic job in Dream Girls, theres Ellen page who doesnt like a actress but a small girl yet she and her film won so many accolades.

That should be the criteria, an actress should be able to act well and successfully portray her character close to reality.

Anyway I dont see that happening in Bollywood anytime soon and mind this, it only happens with heroines.

The heroes no matter how old they are get to romance young girls half thier age and yet when it comes to heroines, we have all types of criticisms and comments.
