Reports indicate that Diljit Dosanjh's most recent Indian passport was issued in Mumbai in 2018. Prior to that, a passport had been issued in Zambia. The newspaper also states that his wife, Sandeep Kaur, holds US citizenship. When he obtained his American citizenship, Diljit reportedly listed a five-bedroom home in California as his address. Diljit has yet to comment on the report.

A group named Jaago Punjab Manch, composed of retired bureaucrats, Army personnel, and professionals, urged singer Dosanjh to enter politics, stating Punjab needs a leader for its "cash-strapped, drug-affected" state. However, Dosanjh firmly rejected this, writing on X, “Kadey v Nhi… Mera Kam Entertainment Karna. Am Very Happy in My Field. Thank You So Much."

This news about Diljit's citizenship status emerged shortly after Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann alleged that the actor-singer was being pressured by the BJP to enter politics. Mann told reporters on Wednesday, "A few days ago, I heard that Diljit is being pressured by the Bharatiya Janata Party to join politics." He added that Diljit had already addressed this, tweeting that he is an artist and content with his profession.

Diljit’s work front

Diljit was most recently featured in the successful film Border 2. His upcoming movie, Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, is scheduled for release on June 12, 2026.

The film features Sharvari, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vedang Raina in prominent roles. Both the songs and the teaser for the movie have garnered significant attention.
