So while you can say Shurpanakha was physically attracted to Ram ji but unki nature dekhe she wanted to marry him. He was one man woman, hence did not agree. Her fault was usne apni ego pe le liya ki how can you reject me ? -- it became a vengeful jealousy.

So you right, comparing Armaan with Ravan is an insult to Ravan coz despite marrying a thousand women, Ravan loved and respected his chief consort Mandodari the most, which Armaan sa can never do.

Ravan is born in rakshas jaat and rised there so his traits and dharma are according to that family culture or tradition followed from their ancestors.These are vishnu haters and shiv bhakts got boons from shivji for the penance they have done.Mandodari is his dharm patni. It's his ego hurt thru lakshman cutting ears nose of surpankha. Surphankha liked ram. First next after lakshman. His sister is hurt by rejection and so he abducted sita in his anger and ego.
