Also wanted to let you know I have The devotion of suspect X now so ready to start with that one whenever you are.

So far this book is kinda slow for me. I’m not really able to get a handle on anyone’s thoughts cos no one really communicates . Except Calla since she’s the narrator. This is also a problem I have with single PoV books - you don’t often get enough insight on the other character(s) to care about them. I’m finding I’m more intrigued by Susan and Wren’s love story and the decisions they made.

Ofc Jonah is gonna be the love interest

I'm done until Chapter 7. I'm just now discovering this isn't a single book. This is a cliffhanger of sorts. There's a second book too. Do we continue with this or switch to a different one ?

@b : me too! Susan is a very intriguing character. He's this voice of reason and I'm interested to know how he and Susan fell in love.

(I hate cliffhangers and would have never suggested this had I known , sorry )

If you want to stop/ DNF and read a different book instead, I'm okay with it.

I don't mind reading if you don't Lizzie

If we feel like continuing, we can move on to the next book — otherwise, we can always ditch it and start something else.

@b: No no, it’s totally not an issue! I don’t mind reading cliffhangers — it’s just that this one came out of left field, lol. I mean, when I read the blurb, I didn’t check if it was a standalone or part of a series. Even I assumed it was just one book.

Like pls, there are plenty of Indians travelling to the US for work -- I'm not too sure everyone's 'too shy' to develop friends outside of work.
