smiley37I doubt Mrs. Giggly cares .

Im in the minority I didn’t like Srk rani Jodi one bit or her pairings with the other two khans either. I didn’t see this movie obvious reasons her voice and didn’t seem to peak my interest. I have no clue on it being good or not so won’t talk on this movie being good or bad. I did hear the songs though and they were good. I wonder why kajol or juhi weren’t asked as they were close to him at that time ( might be they married or other resons) later when he did kal ho na ho him and Preity became close though she debuted with him but then both had own projects. So the choices would have been rani, Preity, kareena mainly with him. Anyhow on topic I may not like Mrs. Giggly but she and Rani were so called besties and she took the role. Anyhow I’m sure the movie was better with her in it over Mrs. Giggly.

Side note to me I like Srk with kajol, Preity, and juhi. And Srk-Preity my personal top pairing with him so I always be inclined to see these two together over his other pairs.

ofcourse flop Preity fan . Don’t try to make Preity relevant again as an actress by comparing her with Rani . Preity’s career ended in 2007 as an actress. Rani is having her second innings from NOKJ. She’s the only actress to have an action franchise with the Mardaani series . Only actress with 250cr WW collections . I will keep on dropping her achievements on your face , every time you will subtly try to shame her in different topics in varied ways

go ahead it don’t bother me n saying Preity wasn’t good is ridiculous just the same way u put down every other actress and their achievements. Each actor as their time and preity had hers and it was good as unsaid till 2007 and then she decided to get into the ipl and things and yes when other actresses came they were chosen over her just like Madhuri n sridevi had their time or juhi n kajol there’s due to their choices. It’s now since kareena that actresses who married still working and in the new gen alia even with a baby is working as she’s young even though married but that also because the trend as changed she because not many new generations stars likely the audience to take some actresses places. The competition esp post covid is less and the newer ones aren’t being accepted. That aside and to ur point as I said earlier had rani not married Aditya her career would have ended as well. Had Preity married someone in the movie industry who was a director or had a production house she probably do movies too. Between her movie
Heaven on earth in 2008 did well and got acclaimed both in overseas ( Canada ) and India. Anyhow pretty because she had personal issues with ness wadia that clouted her and she like others was into her personal life over movies. Though she did try some movie in 2011 it didn’t work but rani s dil hip da too didn’t work in that time period but she stayed in India and married into yrf production house giving her opportunities.

I’m not that diehard like u. I don’t care whether u say Preity is this or that or others u don’t like. U can praise rani to the moon won’t matter as she’s not relevant with the current lot and good she as second innings. Preity as I mentioned plans to return to movies let’s see how she does. Unlike u it don’t matter to me how her movies do. I just state my opinions based on when Preity was reigning now she does a movie here n there n in case she does well or gets some praise or something then Good. But I didn’t like rani voice n I guess some others didn’t thst it had to be dubbed in ghulm but later they didn’t which they should have continued and spared my ears. Plus as said had she not been in most Preity movies esp with the khans maybe I would not have cared much because I could just have simply ignored her onscreen and not cared like some other actresses. But as said preity isn’t only actress I liked. I have others and I never diehard in any actress,

Rani's fan needs to chill. Pretending she is some box office star because she's the only actress with her own franchise and her films just barely make back their budget completely ignores the context of Rani's privilege as being married to the head of Yash Raj Films.

Rani only received the narrative of being a great actress in the last few years. In the 2000s, she was considered good but not any better than her contemporaries or her predecessors. When Vidya arrived and established herself, she was being hailed as one of the greats. Tabu had this reputation. Rani was giving clunkers like Dil Bole Hadippa and Aiyyaa. Nobody considered her one of the greats from films like that. And Vidya and Tabu's box office hits are still far more successful than Rani's films nowadays so let's put it in perspective people.

Rani only established herself as a "serious actress" or the "female Aamir" with films like Hichki and Chatterjee. The problem is that we assume that Rani is doing these roles because no other actress can do them. WRONG.

Other actresses don't get these opportunities. Rani is only getting them based on who she is married to. If she hadn't broken up a marriage to become Ms. Aditya Chopra, she wouldn't be getting these roles either that people now claim only she can do. Madhuri, Juhi, Preity, Aishwarya, Urmila, and yes even Kajol could do these films if granted the chances but they aren't given those chances.

Kajol has bemoaned the fact that actresses of her age have no roles onscreen anymore. The only good roles are on OTT. Ironically enough, Kajol's OTT roles have been more daring and have given her more scope as an actress than she could get in commercialized films for the masses. People don't watch them so they relegate Kajol to a commercial actress with little range, but if they did see them, they'd think differently.

The same is true for Madhuri, who Kajol also said was underrated. People were confused by that comment but she's underrated in the sense that she went from the top in the 90s, overshadowing the Khans and male leads, to being relegated to box office flops in trash like Kalank giving her nothing to do. Watch Madhuri's OTT work and you'll be shocked how much better she is with the right material. The Fame Game gave her a role like no other, which you don't normally see Bollywood heroines ever get. A very complex, nuanced and flawed character but whose strength lies in her flaws. Maja Ma allowed her to play a lesbian, the first time a mainstream actress (particularly an icon and superstar) could play this type of role, something she could never get away with on the silver screen.

Urmila used to play these types of roles in the 2000s and she was lucky to be able to do so because she had a godfather with Ram Gopal Varma. When he had his fall, notice that her films stopped and she more or less retired. Now she can't even get her OTT series to be released. If you asked who was the best actress in the 2000s, people would have said Urmila and that all the critics awards should have gone to her, as people claim now. Rani was never even in that conversation. Now Urmila has been absent for so long that people forget her and that she was a trailblazer and originated these types of anti-filmi heroine roles.

Juhi did manage to get one mainstream role allowing her to branch out from her filmi heroine typecasting. That was as the villain in Gulaab Gang. She got exceptional reviews but a woman-centric film based on women's rights was not going to do well at the box office. Audiences didn't want to see Madhuri and Juhi like that so of course the film didn't do well but Juhi got all the accolades. But then what happened...she didn't get any more roles like that to follow up. She even publicly said how disappointed she was that after the fanfare she got for Gulaab Gang, she was expecting more film offers but never got them. There was no place for her on the big screen anymore. Even in the mid-2000s, when she was forced to stop acting as a leading lady, she started doing independent work and showing her range there as more than just a bubbly heroine or comic actress. She was exceptional in art films but the problem is that most people haven't seen those movies so they don't realize her range.

Preity gets dismissed, especially by Rani's fan, as a lightweight actress. Ignoring the fact that she came from an era in the 90s where Madhuri's films were banned by some families for being too vulgar and most actresses publicly would lie about being virgins to be accepted, yet Preity took challenging roles like playing unwed mothers, surrogates, and prostitutes. Her most critically acclaimed work is the one that basically no one has seen or ever watched. Heaven on Earth, is a Canadian film about a Punjabi woman in an arranged marriage and desperately unhappy. Watch this film and you'll see a new Preity...in fact, you won't see Preity at all. The Preity we watch in YRF films or Dharma films is not the Preity you'll see here. Not only was this film critically acclaimed with international awards nominations and wins, but she even got a Best Actress nomination by the highest acting award in Canada, the Genie Award, otherwise considered the Canadian Oscar and the main national film award in Canada. Can any other Indian actress claim that she's received a nomination from an international country's highest award? Rani has not even received one National Film Award, meanwhile Preity gets a nomination from Canada's equivalent and Aishwarya was runner-up for India's National Film Award the year of Sarbjit and the only Bollywood actress under consideration that year.

So everytime Rani gets praised for a Hichki or Mrs. Chatterjee and people claim only Rani can do these roles, I ask everyone to please consider how true that really is. Because she's not getting these roles because she's the most deserving or the only one able to play them. She's getting them automatically because these films are tailormade for her based on who her husband is. If she had failed to marry Aditya Chopra, I guarantee she'd be as much off the screen as Preity and Urmila now, the way she was in those dark years when her films were flopping and she wasn't married yet. Note that her film quality only turned around the same time as her marriage. If Rani was such a loyal friend to these women or if one of them were head of Yash Raj Films, you would see Kajol, Preity, Urmila, Juhi, etc. in Hichki and Mrs. Chatterjee and be claiming that only they could do this role, no other actress could. Rani would not even be in consideration and only appreciated for those few years in the 2000s when she was at her peak.
