I think the main reasons for the increase are food, lifestyle, and technology.
People were much more happier in their lives before mobile phones and social media.
Bollywood forums have become very toxic... Not even bashing but continues torture and oppression and bullying.. I sometimes wonder if they do actually count the number of times they repeat the same thing or don't actually remember?

Can't agree more.
Regular exercise will curtail most of the stress, anxitey and depression based issues.
Seems a simplistic approach but it is not.
Exercise or just a 40 minutes brisk walking channelizes and balances all these turbulent energy patterns.

They say the effect of quarantine on kids mental health is gonna be long lasting and distressing
Even before the pandemic and quarantine, they were talking about how depression, anxiety disorders is increasing among the younger population due to lack of social connections
They chat away online all day ( like us here) and that gives them a false sense of social connection which only isolates them even more
