Actor Sudhir Dalvi admitted in hospital for treatment of SEVERE SEPESIS, Family appeals for Rupees 15 Lakh

Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, celebrated for his legendary role as Lord Sai Baba in Manoj Kumar’s 1977 film Shirdi Ke Saibaba, has been receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai since October 8, 2025. The 86-year-old actor is reported to be battling severe sepsis, a serious and potentially life-threatening infection that requires constant monitoring and intensive medical care.

Reports from Movie Talkies reveal that Dalvi’s medical expenses have already crossed Rs 10 lakh, with doctors estimating that the overall cost of his treatment could reach Rs 15 lakh. Concerned about the mounting bills, the actor’s family has made an appeal to fans and members of the film and television industry for financial support to help cover the ongoing expenses. They have also shared bank details to facilitate contributions.

Sudhir Dalvi’s contribution to Indian cinema and television spans several decades, leaving an indelible mark on audiences. His portrayal of Sai Baba in Shirdi Ke Saibaba remains iconic and continues to be cherished by fans even decades after the film’s release. Dalvi’s work in the television series Ramayan in 1987, where he played Rishi Vashishtha, is also remembered fondly, along with his performances in films such as Junoon in 1978 and Chandni in 1989.

He was last seen on the big screen in the 2003 comedy Xcuse Me and on television in Woh Huye Na Hamare in 2006. Despite stepping away from acting in recent years, his performances continue to be celebrated by audiences and critics alike.
