How does Pathan make sense in today's world or for that matter even Gadar 2? They're outdated. The less said better about RRKPK. It was an insipid laundry list of social issues shoehorned randomly with equally stupid songs thrown in. I agree that Aamir was in PK hangover in LSC and the acting at times was atrocious. But it also had good moments, and i reiterate that the emotional scenes were done well. Mona Singh was damn good. It lacked natural flow and progression of story like most Aamir movies usually have but it didn't deserve the panning it received when embarrassing filth like Pathaan is getting accolades. I was bashed by these devout SRK fans for calling Pathaan stupid.
I feel people are particularly hard on Aamir because they expect a certain standard from him, and when that is not met, he is bashed. In comparison to whatever Bollywood has turned into today, he makes an effort to make a quality product. That's more than most mainstream heroes. Roasting him over coals for a bad product like TOH and LSC (to some extent) is bad faith when he has consistently put a standard in Bollywood. All these 100 cr, 300 cr clubs originated due to his films.
I happen to like LSC and don't think it deserved the ridicule it was subjected to. Movie preferences are subjective anyway so it's pointless to debate. I'm just calling out the general treatment towards Aamir on this forum, when garbage like Pathaan is lapped up.
