Arnav’s mind first went blank with absolute and utter relief before wanes upon waves of anger came crashing down. He had been going through hell at the thought of what this news would do to Khushi.

They have never been together ever before the party and even at the party it wouldn’t have been apparent that they were together. He moved away from her when she tried to get too friendly, left for the balcony without her and they went into one of the nearby rooms.

A woman can’t escape pregnancy detection but a man can. As I said, other than her and Manali and Arnav’s camp no one else knows. EXCEPT, the reporter who was bought off and was under Aman’s radar and who ever sent Khushi the photos.

Modern day India is certainly not like the US but has become less traditional than 30 years ago. Nina Gupta’s career has revived and her daughter has her own fashion line and reality TV show.

I know about Nina Gupta and Masaba because I saw Masaba Masaba on Netflix. I don’t know all of the details from 30 SOME YEARS AGO. But they were publicly linked, Viv Richards is another race so the baby born would have some of his features, he was a foreigner and not as rich as Arnav. I am sure his cricketer fraternity had lawyers that protected him but not in the league that Arnav has at his disposal.

India is much less liberal than the US but even India has moved ahead in 30 plus years.

There’s a reason for it, public is still not that forgiving here. Bony Kapoor married Sridevi and it still didn’t save her career. Dharmendra changed religion so he could legally marry Hema Malini. Even in recent years, there hasn’t been ANY celebrity, movies or otherwise who could have gotten away hiding the name of the father. Public might forget sooner or later, but Arnav was right. It’s career suicide here in india.

Shridevi married Boney Kapoor when she was 7 months pregnant and she used to call him brother before so his wife allowed her to stay with them in the same house... Cringe...

But Arnav’s first reaction IS utter relief and then anger after a momentary reaction that is a VERY normal thing. Contrary to what you believe, his anger came from thinking what this news would do to Khushi. Even before he got angry for himself. He wasn’t detected from her.

But the bottom line Arnav let go MaLa D and Khushi and her family faced the consequences... So his behavior unfortunately makes it selfish, he let go things once he was cleared of the mess.

But those people had been linked together in some circles so a lot of people knew about them. There is no reason for anyone ever to suspect Arnav as being the father. Akash and Aman both very close to Arnav were shocked that the woman was Lavenya. This is irrespective to Lavenya’s career.

I am not saying he isn’t taking responsibility for the pregnancy but Arnav has always used his means to keep his private life out of the public eye. Why would he change now?

Manali by the same token has always been a master at keeping Lavenya’s image as a good girl. Lavenya is worried about being termed a home wrecker if they find out about the divorce. I would think this would be a valid reason for Lavenya to keep mum about him publicly.

Yeah her family suffered because Manali interfered. He kept the news of his divorce away from media. Her family suffered because of the people of her beloved home which she was very sure will accept her wholeheartedly. The day Arnav took her back, she even confessed that at least on one thing they’re on the same page. That makes him not selfish if anything. Author herself had confirmed it. He let go because he didn’t think Khushi was a target.

To me, Arnav should have anticipated La will not take his rejection easily, Ma explicitly told him too and would do something to harm Khushi. It's obvious considering MaLa D consider Khushi as their obstacle. Any woman who is in love with married man and wants him will create misunderstanding or trouble his wife and La had all means.

Arnav would have taken actions against MaLa D in Jan itself. MaLa D in this story are way astute than Arnav and always ahead of him unfortunately.
