Yoi make a fair point, I must admit I stopped watching the show in the beginning.

What I am trying to say is just like someone can overplay toxic to the point of us eye rolling, one can overplay nice to the point of boring. After all, actors can only do with what they have. Wahaj’s character had a single tone and that is “Mujhe pyaar hua thaa”

Balance is very very important while writing a character or there must be a character arc. I think we are getting to see an arc for Maheer but Saad needs to get on an arc otherwise for me, he comes across as boring.

Have you watched the movie Voh Saat Din - Naseeruddin Shah plays the nice man, but he is never boring. In fact, I think the director gave him a daughter so that we get to see another layer of the character. There is a Tamil movie Mouna Ragam where the husband is a nice man, but never boring, because the director gave him several layers as a manager of an office, of being able to stand up for his principles.

I do hope that these layers were given to Saad in the previous episodes which maybe made him an interesting man. There is a beautiful telefilm called Hindola where Faruq sheik plays the nice husband, and where the wife actually says “Voh boring hue tou kya hua? He is a solid man”. In fact in the telefilm the husband wife relationship is so lovely and Faruq Sheikh plays the boring but nice husband so so so well you can’t help but fall in love with him.

Accha as i have bashed enough,let me come to some good points in todays epi.I liked last two Saheer scenes and also the hug was good barring the bizzare purple lighting.The last scene of Saheer,where Mahi says she trusts their friendship and not to break that trust,i feel like its a foreshadowing of upcoming epi,Mahi is most probably going to misunderstand Saad after reading the diary,the love he had harboured for Mahi for years,might disturb her initially and she might misunderstand his intention,given Mahi is quite hot headed and quick to reaction,i feel she will at first blame Saad for hiding his love and also doubt his intention🤔.I liked the scene,it showed understanding and friendship between them and the amount of trust they put on each other,it had subtle chemistry.Also her saying she prefers respect and trust more than love and money is a ditto point.Respect and trust should be priority bcs even if there is love but no respect and trust then that love will eventually fade with time.

The other scene i liked where Mahi says how Saad is above Areeb and how she misunderstood Areeb's madness as love.She is noticing Saad's quality and goodness and differentiating between Areeb and Saad and rightly found Saad to be the better option and person.

I loved the hug ❤️

Yes I loved these scenes too. In fact, I felt these were the only ones worth watching in the whole episode. Rest of the episode was meh!
I am loving the progression for Maheer, I just wish while this progression is happening, Saad reactions are more interesting or more pronounced. After all, he has been waiting to see this change. That said, I did like when his face dropped when she said I was waiting for you because I was bored. And she had a small smile when his face dropped. I think they should do more scenes from this angle. It makes Saad more effective in the candle he holds for her.

I loved loved when she said Saad is above Areeb, because that is so so so true, he is..it’s what we love about Saad. He is the better person…

But I so wished his reaction could have had some clarity…instead of just changing the topic. Even something like “don’t put me on a pedestal” but you are right, maybe that would have been even more foreshadowed

The hug was sweet. I do think they should have more physical proximity, like he should have gotten closer while she was ironing. But yes, I did enjoy some scenes fosho

This show really needed a good director (I have heard badar mehmood did not direct the show) and better lighting.

Even boring and stupid storyline could work if direction is good.Saad , maheer and their families r all good actors.They should have utilised in the show properly.I have heard they could not do much changes because main director was not directing the show and assistant director cannot do much changes.So this mess was created.

Saheer hug scene was nice but again lighting 😡.What's with pink lighting in maheer's room?

@BOLD....ALLAH even I thought why isn't he getting closer and I really thought he will push aside her hair or something

But then I loved he did nothing

It takes some time to get comfy with physical proximity

I had a really hard time

So I can relate and respect men like Saad even more

@Bold..i have 0 confidence on Saad when it comes to physical proximity,like he does not have any romantic bone in him😆.Saad is more of a shayari guy,he will rather write deep loveable things for her than do romance physically i guess.But i would appreciate some halki phulki flirting atleast from him.

His reaction being so thanda,i was exactly talking about this when the last epi came out!Saad is someone who loved Mahi from his childhood and went through literal abysmal pain when she wasnt his and longed for Areeb.When Mahi finally accepten him and is giving him importance and even noticing and praising him then why his reactions are so normal,like it happens daily for him!I know Areeb is creating issues but Mahi is Saad's priority and i dont think Areeb's antics could make Saad's mood so sour that he is not noticing Mahi's huge change in behaviour towards him.He is complimenting Mahi so normally,why so,atleast thora aur reaction hona chahiye tha bcs all of this is a huge change and something Saad wished for his entire life then after getting it how come he is so thanda?You remember the scene,where Mahi says she was waiting for him at night while sleeping on the couch and the way Saad's mood lifted getting to know that and also excitedly asked was she really waiting for him and the way he was shying and smiling when Mahi said him not to be in sad mood,i would appreciate those kind of reactions more.Even i liked today's waiting wala scene as well,i thought Saad was subtly flirting with Mahi though when she said she was just getting bored and Saad also replied he came back sooner bcs he was getting bored as well,i felt Saad knew Mahi was waiting for him and just teasing him while giving the getting bored excuse🤔?

I havent seen such disasterous direction in any other show ever!Direction can make any boring script better as you said by improvising but here when AD is directing he doesnt have much scope to put his own input,he just followed the script.It looks like some newbie's work tbh.Even jalan had a weak script but the direction was stunning in that show,thats what experienced directors like Badar Mehmood can do,i find it pretty much unprofessional on his part to leave his work to AD,due to this the good actors had to suffer as well(not talking about Areeb and family).Whats wrong with the godforsaken lighting mahn!Like just use normal lights whats with the neela peela rangeela lights,is it some disco going on or what😵!

That is a writing flaw ... they just made Saad one tone boring... he doesn’t get too angry too.. at one point I really hated his persona especially coz it contrasted with power packed murtism....

And I can’t even understand how n which moment mahir felt saad is more buland n better man .. we just have to assume she saw through the boring persona n recognised the niceness
