Well said. Actors of past did theatre, graduated from NSD, SRFTI, FTII type prestigious institutes.

Today's lot does none of that.

All they know is glamour or plastic surgeries and gym.

Not these outsiders but we hardly support any outsider at all.

Rajkumar Rao is talented. He hardly gets hype that nepo kids like Varun get for eg.

I would watch both Varun and RKR's movies on TV.....both of them don't entertain me enough to spend my money in watching their movie in theater.......

From media. Varun is all over ads, award shows, stage shows, mag covers.

Rajkumar is hardly visible in contrast.

I cannot even remember last time he performed on stage.

Well I think Rajkumar has been given more awards than Varun. Shouldnt that count ? If that cant raise RKR stature than perhaps he was never star material

That is fair enough but there are many who watch films of Varun in theatre as he does big banner films.

But will hardly buy tickets for RKR films as he works with less huge banners.

RKR gets more of critic choice awards. He hardly gets the main best actor awards which even Ayushmaan got.

I think he is a very good actor but is somehow pushed to offbeat or middle of the road cinema.

Otherwise he has potential to someday strike fine balance between art and commerce like Aamir and can fit cinema like TZP, RDB.

He does not have swag of Salman to do total commercial biggies like ETT but I think he deserves more than what he is currently getting.

I bet quality of writing, filmmaking, acting will go up, if they get right opportunities.
