Umm… shouldn’t it be “some of us” instead of “we” 😳 I never idolized anyone from the entertainment industry 😆
I agree it should be 'we' because not all were crazy about stars even in 70s or 90s or 2000s either.
I guess it is the word limit in title which made me use 'we'.
I disagree with most people. Kpop stars have a huge fan following in India and I feel like there are absolutely young Indians who idolise these guys. BUT if we’re talking Bollywood, there hasn’t been anyone worthy enough recently to idolise in the same way. Neither a Tara Sutaria, not a Ranbir Kapoor. They’re all so meh off screen that people just haven’t clicked with them on that level.
Social media seems to have taken away from the "secrecy" that helped create stars in the first place.
Secondly, most of them have such a Westernised approach to everything that most people in the country can't connect to them.
This is also true. Today's stars have failed to take nation by storm nor have distinct personalities or even any achievements or BO records for fans to fight over or debate about.
Also, most of them seem alike. It is hard to remember who is who. No distinct personality like say, Hrithik, Khans or Ash, Kajol, Lolo, Bebo, Preity, Rani or Madhuri or Sridevi or even Katrina or Deepika.

All of this! There’s nothing “Indian” about the current generation of stars. People like Saif and Kareena will legit boast about not watching Hindi cinema. Leave that, if the Bollywood wives show is anything to go by, these kids literally cannot even speak Hindi after their Ambani school education. And in a generation of social media, barely any are likeable. Take Jhanvi’s cringe af videos (every video she posts has people hating on her big time). Or Ananya’s tongue touching her nose. Or Sonam constantly being condescending towards costars. Or Ranbir mocking Anushka/Katrina. They all come across as people I would never ever want to associate myself with, let alone be friends with.
These posts by you and Ashley..Tisdale are spot on.
Today's stars are way too over exposed on social media. Too in your face and on every damn app. So much so that they seem no different from random content creators and influencers.
They seem westernized and wannabe. They cannot speak a single language properly be it Hindi or English or regional language. Their voices, accents, looks, style seem same.
They also sound ignorant AF.
Nothing unique and surely nothing Indian about them.
Younger gen is busy in YouTube videos influencers
