So there are reports that Devika is going to make an appearance and go about her usual routine of solving problems for the unpaid maid and probably becoming the peacemaker in Apmaan couple's life.

Based on the discussions here and thinking about how she ends up being the one who does everything concrete, it set me thinking as to whether Anuj should have married her instead of the nihayati ghatiya Anupa, who has ended up ruining his life. (Just a thought)

Yes, one does not fall in love based on logic but it is pragmatic that a smart educated businessman would end up with someone sensible, independent and having self respect like Devika, who is almost his parallel. But in Anupamaverse he is shown to be a puppy running behind this pagal beghairat orat. They say love empowers you but sometimes the wrong choice ends up taking you down aur Anuj ki naiyya doob gayi hai.

Beware. If Anupa senses her position is threatened even by tiniest of possibility, she's gonna use one of her impactful manipulative tactics and after Anu, the next turn will be of Devika 🤣

Agreed Anuj deserve someone like Devika who he can happily open up to and will unconditionally love him unlike that Shameless Maid. I don’t know whether I want Devika to enter though, I hope she doesn’t support AnupaMaid, she does not deserve any sympathy at all. It would be nice to see Devika calling out Anupa and taking the side of her broken down friend.

Tbh it will be good for Devika if she loses a friend who remembers her only when in need. A bit of a simplification but if one categorises people into takers and givers, the former have no limits and keep at it till the latter is exhausted. Anupamaa is a giver with shameless shahs but with Devika she is a taker.

Not trying to over analyse their friendship but I only see Devika coming to help her, advise and try to sort out her problems. When has it ever been reciprocated? Leave aside that, she didn't even defend her when the beastly hag taunted Devika for having had a divorce. 😡

Undoubtedly Devika was a better choice of the two. I recall vaguely discussing this when AK was introduced. To me, the greatest mystery of the show is his blind love for Anupamaa.

I still remember how she humiliated Devika when she exposed Trashraj 😡 She does not deserve a friend like her at all! She does not value the nice people in her life like Kanta, Devika, Bhavesh and Anuj. She deserves Shameless Shahs only 👍🏼

Devika's real life is not necessary for now. They might show something when Anupa's next bhashan is due and they want to glorify her😆

On a serious note, Anupa has chosen who she's going to take from and who she's going to be a giver for based on who treats her how. Treat her well, you will become a giver for her. Treat her badly, she will become a giver for you.

Anuj woke up shivering, yelling "Anupama!"

His wife next to him got up, her drowsiness all gone. "What happened? What happened Anuj? Did you have a bad dream? And Anupama...she's vaguely familiar....did you have a nightmare involving this person?"

Anuj turned to look at her, he still looked dazed. "Devika...you won't believe this...you remember Anupama?"

"I don't exactly....she's vaguely familiar though..." Devika was trying to think.

"She was our classmate, don't you remember? One of the few girls who used to wear a saree...and her pallu..." Anuj was hesitating to tell the rest.

"My god - wait is this who I think this is? The one who uses her pallu for everything? Remember she once cleaned the blackboard with her pallu and what the faculty's expression was then?"

"Yes, yes, her, exactly her, the one everyone used to call 'Ms. Surri'" Anuj replied.

"You had a dream about Ms. Surri?" Devika had a very awkward expression on her face. "Oh god don't tell me...you dreamt..."

"It's your worst nightmare, Devika. I dreamt I was in love with her, it was one full-fledged tale where I had unrequited love for Ms. Pallu for 26 years, then she finally said yes, and we got married -"

Devika wanted to look horrified but she started laughing seeing the expression on Anuj's face.

"No, no, wait, wait - I'm not done. Once we got married - the tale turned all dark. So very dark. There was this adopted kid, who looked kind of like our own daughter by the way, there was a whole lot of shattering of illusions - a messy tale of love and betrayal - it felt like years, Devika, that dream". Anuj said wonderingly. Then he started laughing. "Maybe it's because it's a dream, but my god, it was like a badly-written film with such laughable dialogues, man - let me tell you -"

Devika smiled. "Wait, first I need some tea in my system. Is it your turn or my turn to make chai, today?"

Anuj pouted. "Dude I just dreamt I got married to Ms. Surri, I deserve some sympathy tea today!"

Devika started laughing. "Fine, fine..."

Anuj however, followed her into the kitchen.

"So listen to this..." He continued as he casually put a spoonful of tea powder into the boiling water. "This is a dialogue I actually told Ms. Surri in my dream during the courting period, and you are not allowed to laugh, okay, you are not allowed to laugh.."

"No, no, I won't laugh" Devika said innocently.

Anuj started imitating "My Anu, I just want to be just like you. You are so happy in your suti saree"

Devika let out a little giggle.

Anuj continued. "I wish I could also wear a suti saree"

Devika burst out laughing.

Anuj kept speaking in between his laughs. "And...and I was like wait no... it will be too weird to wear a suti saree, maybe I'll stitch some shirt or kurta out of the suti saree...."

"Oh god.... Anuj..." Tears were coming out of Devika's eyes. "Had you tried to court me with lines like that, I would have rejected you immediately"

"Hey, hey, I can make anything look cool, okay" He said teasingly. "Devika, you are so sassy in your crop top - I wish I could wear a crop top"

That set Devika off again "You know you are an idiot, right?" She said as she added the milk.

"But oh, Devika..." Anuj's eyes got a little serious. After a point, like I mentioned, things got too dark....there was a lot of depression. Can I bore you with all the details of the dream now? All the gory details, no filters"

"Always." Devika said as she got the teacups ready. "Come let's sit out the balcony? Since you are going to bore me, at least let me get some fresh air, you idiot"

Devika suddenly turned serious. "Wait did I hurt you?"

As Anuj started shaking his head to signify no, Devika said "Surri Surri Surri"

Laughing, they both went to the balcony.
