Jess Jonassen, Player of the Match: Tonight it was probably Jess the batter. Went for a few runs at the end (with the ball). I love batting. Nice that it came off tonight. The wicket was incredible. She definitely hits me for quite a few sixes in the nets (Healy). Happy to get one over her. Always an enjoyable competition when we come up against one another.

Meg Lanning, Delhi Capitals captain: Nice start to the tournament. Our batting has been great. I've thoroughly enjoyed batting here in India. So far so good. It's not surprising (200+ scores). Great advert for the game. Hope it continues. It's been very enjoyable so far. Everyone's very friendly. Great set-up here at Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals secured their second win in as many matches at the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023, beating UP Warriorz by 42 runs at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday. Skipper Meg Lanning emerged as the standout player from the Delhi camp as she smashed 42-ball 70 after her side were invited to bat first. Apart from Jess Jonassen scored an unbeaten 42 off 20 balls as Delhi piled a staggering 211-4 on the board. UP in response got off to a decent start but kept losing wickets in regular intervals and could only manage 169/5 in 20 overs. Tahila McGrath staged a good fight as she scored an unbeaten 90 off 50 balls, which is so far the highest individual score at WPL. She, however, didn't find any support from her teammates. Meanwhile, this was UP's first defeat at WPL, having won the previous encounter against Gujarat Titans.

I guess both. Once the target is set at 200+ it is hard to keep up with the required run rate for the chasing team. As soon as the required run rate increases, the team loses control.
