I think what should keep in mind above all is there is no consensus on these two. Even if there was looks are very subjective. There is someone who goes around preaching like her opinion on the matter is the truth carved in stone. Same person I have seen use very derogatory colorist remarks to describe others like Deepika.

I don't find Ranbir attractive at all. Not even average tbh.

Is colorism why some find him good-looking? #shrugs Could be. People are allowed to like lighter skin just as they're allowed to like tall men or busty women.

Problem comes when dark skin is mocked. As in calling Vicky names or mocking entire geographical/racial groups as happened yesterday in another thread.

Agree with bold! Basically it does still happen!

You can voice what you feel. I will not judge.

I feel that this is a nonsensical assumption and just one more “discussion” topic to bash a particular actor.

Ok I guess I can not argue against a feeling right? But I am going by what I have seen and not feel. I have seen people who think one way literally use classist, racist, and even colorist remarks to degrade Vicky. Recently they just called him a Bihari truck driver? These same people defend Ranbir looks wise zealously. It is more of an observation from me than an assumption. But to each it's own.

Same with his nose which is always covered up with his beard. Might be people say Vicky is better looking with a beard.

I don’t think colorism adversely affects men in patriarchal societies much. Women bear the brunt of it, mostly.

Yeah, the discussion on Reddit did mention Bipasha Basu. But look how Deepika is raved about her beauty. People who feel colorism exist have stated that she is a rare exception. And she is more of a dark brown wheatish tone then really dark?

I don’t like facial hair. Not that I’m really looking at men very often 😆

DP was bashed, as well. I remember Sobha De once wrote a “think piece” calling Deepika a maid look alike or something because of her dusky skin. An educated woman displaying such internalized misogyny? Can you imagine that? DP shut them up because she ultimately became successful. Also, who can forget Our own mean little FOD copy pasting DP’s mandir photo all over the forum just to put her down.
