I don't care what other think 😆

Also, Bihari people are beautiful both inside and outside

The problem lies with people who think Bihari is an abusive word

I know you find both of them talented and attractive. We are discussing the discrepancy in terms of some people and what is the underlying cause behind it. Is it colorism?

No. I think its a difference of opinion. Its ok if some people don't find Vicky Or Ranbir attractive. No big deal

I couldn't care less about colour but I don't find either of them attractive. Ranbir to me is a huge turn off because he has this blank, vacant look on his face which makes him look dumb. Shows in his expressions as well, which is why I have never found him appealing as an actor. Vicky is not conventionally good looking, he looked ok as long as he had the beard but without it, he looks very average.

IMO he was never THAT attractive! But yes, drugs and alcohol are making him age REALLY bad ! 👍

Sorry, I misunderstood you initially. Yeah, people repeated he is attractive and talented 200 times thus others started believing it. It worked for Aloo's talent wise too but not in terms of looks.

Ghajini is at it since 2012 but it is not working coz starting mein they went for oh she's so dumb strategy so people don't take her seriously offscreen. Dumb blondes ab nahi chalti.

Colourism is very subconsciously ingrained in certain cultures. It could very well be true that some people mock Vicky because of his darker skin tone. The slurs they use seem indicative of that. I find Ranbir pretty average looks wise as well, but don’t see people mocking him with the same slurs. Perhaps, he fits in the good/decent looking category for the Indian audience better than Vicky.

On the other hand, it could also be that Vicky’s average features coupled with a lack of perceived power are the reason for the mockery. For eg. SRK and Ajay Devgn are darker skinned, average looking men as well, but exude either charisma or star power. Below average looking men like Rajnikant are literally worshipped in the South.

I think that people respond to good looks or perceived power in a person. If a celebrity doesn’t have either, they become a victim to mocking and vicious trolling. I also think the trolls are sour because Vicky got Katrina Kaif as his wife, who was and (arguably) still is the heart throb of many.

I agree with you mostly. Colorism is still present but it is engrained with society on a very subconscious level. So it is hard to identify besides the few people who use very offensive racist and colorist slurs.

Just on the bold. I thought you felt the opposite as you stated here. Anyways I always felt they make a cute couple.

I always found Ranbir average looking too. Until he started aging very very poorly. IMO!

Yup. But I think RK is good looking. But he needs to maintain, like his current pics where he has his "Animal" look, if he styled his hair well.

Why I say colorism exists in BW: Deepika and Kajol, and recently, Nysa.
