They kept the names intact which doesn't make any sense but changed their profession to lawyers. 😆The original movie professional setup made a lot of sense, Pooja as CEO and AA as her employee.

OT- I am actually surprised by the trailer and how they revealed the whole plot, liked a few dialogues though. Kartik has a far better comic timing than likes of Ranveer, Varun who have a knack of making masala movies like these very cringey he has a good balance of chhapriness😆 and slickness. I am kinda liking the way he's doing action for the 1st time and seems to have the height n physique to pull it off.

Since some time I feel sad about such remakes which don't make sense to me (but cost money and energy that could be spent on original movies)...by now, the HIndi filmindustry should know that only because the original movie they remake was successful at the box office doesn't - far too often - make the remake successful, too.

I've nothing against inspiration from other movies yet inventing a new story should be the aim.

My enthusiasm for Drishyam wasn't for the remake but for the original story which made the movie - despite minor changes - such a rave also as a HIndi remake...and I really admired Tabu's rendition of the character.

I wish Kartik success but I hope this won't be - furthermore - for movies that were already made less than a generation ago.

fathers name is ramachandra and mother is yashoda

here it becomes meaningless

also the title is also connected vaikuntapuram is the abode of vishnu, in the title song the first para is taken from gajendra moksham which is a very classical poem/tale of how lord vishnu rescued a elephant from the clutches of a crocodile. the song comes when bantu enters the house and the whole song means he is now rescued and his life has changed and he has entered vaikunta and is blessed now

yahan anyway film title is totally different

In original the title made sense, like Vaikuntapurumalo was the holy den where Yashodha was probably waiting to get her real son back, the true heir of that massive royalty and once Arjun/Bantu enters, the song and everything was so subtle and truly iconic. There’s sth about Trivikram’s narration here, you don’t pity Bantu but deep down you want him to call Tabu as ‘mom’ atleast once in the whole movie. I had goosebumps when the title song plays and he enters, also the fact that Valmiki is walking behind him made it truly epic.

On the other hand I think in the Hindi they’re making it OTT comedy which with the original was effortless. I hate to say this that if this movie might’ve released in Hindi as original I might’ve actually liked it knowing the plot is fun and all about beautiful swag and heroic comeback of the lead, but since I already know what the original is, how massive and viral the original is and how iconic Allu Arjun was in every frame, my judgement of this Hindi one will always haves bias. and to heighten it they’re remaking Buttabomma and copied Sitarala Sirparu sequence 💀

At this rate I’m only praying that they don’t ever remake Pushpa and Arya, I’ll officially hunt them down and force them to watch C grade bhojpuri cinema so that they forget movie making

My god. The trailer is so bad. They not only revealed the entire plot but even the most important scenes such as Kartik slapping his father, which was an extremely impactful and shocking scene in the original. The jokes don't land. Tabu even in her limited role looked so powerful, not bechari. The songs sound below par and Kartik is not a patch on Arjun, I mean the whole mediocrity is so glaring, I can't even! From Samajavaragamana to tere liye usko chod diya 😆

The original movie was not path breaking, both Allu Arjun and Trivikram wanted to do a light hearted movie. Songs, swag, dialogues and humour made the film and the film had great actors.

Shows that for best writing even a mediocre director can do wonders.

For mediocre material, talented directors can take it up to a very great level
