Siddharth Anand: Pathaan will showcase Deepika at her hottest and coolest

This is Deepika's fourth on-screen collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan after Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year

Deepika Padukone made an impression with her brief appearance in the teaser of Pathaan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role and marks his return to the screen after a gap of four years. This is Deepika's fourth on-screen collaboration with the actor after Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year and Chennai Express.

Talking about Deepika's part in the film, Siddharth says, “Deepika Padukone is up there with the biggest of superstars in the history of Hindi cinema. And we knew we had written a role for her in Pathaan that is not only breathtaking, but one that also justifies her superstardom. Pathaan will showcase her in probably her hottest and at the same time, the coolest self.”

On the pairing of SRK and Deepika, Siddharth says, “The on-screen jodi of Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan is probably one of the biggest pairings that Indian cinema has ever seen, given their incredible successes in the past. And in Pathaan we have presented SRK and DP in a way that’s unprecedented.”

He adds, “They have electric chemistry with each other and they look just so hot together. It’s rare to find a pairing like theirs and their jodi is a huge USP for Pathaan.”

Pathaan also starts John Abraham as SRK's nemesis.

The film is set to release on Jan 25, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
