First up it is Mohammad Nabi, Afghanistan captain:"We had a good start in the powerplay but did not keep the momentum till the end. We tried to put up a good score but the pitch was too slow and we fell short. We did not bowl in right lines and lengths. Too many full balls by the fast bowlers. That is why we gave them a lot of opportunities to hit. [On playing Australia] From last ten days we didn't play a game. So we did not get any momentum. We have one more game and hopefully we do well.

Clinical from Dhananjaya who fittingly hits the winning runs. Sri Lanka's bowlers bowled really well in the back end of the first innings to restrict Afghanistan to a below-par score. In reply, the Asian champions got off to a slow start. They lost both their openers to spin and were 63/2 at the halfway stage. After the drinks break, Dhananjaya decided to up the ante and went about his business in style. He used his feet well, knocked the good balls around and punished anything loose. DDS notched up a classy fifty off just 36 deliveries and took his team over the line with 9 balls to spare.

Wanindu Hasaranga, Player of the Match: We lost last two games against Australia and New Zealand. We had to play our best game. I am really happy. Last game also I thought Zampa bowled well. I tried to vary my pace here. Perth was very good for the batters. I had gone for a few runs against Australia. But I knew I will bounce back. I had the support of big boundaries here.

Dasun Shanaka: It was a good performance from bat and ball. DDS played a classy innings. He showed that in T20 it's not all about taking the bowlers on, he timed his innings. Credit to him and Wanindu. The bowlers bowled in the right areas. We found some consistency today, what is important is to continue in the next game as well. The other games are beyond our control, but we are aiming to win our next game with a healthy rate which gives us a good chance to qualify.

Mohammad Nabi: We got a good start in the powerplay. We didn't keep the momentum going. We tried to post a good score on the board. The wicket got slower towards the end. The fast bowlers bowled too full and we erred with our lines and lengths. We gave away too many opportunities for them to hit. We didn't play any game in the last 10 days, we didn't get any momentum. We have one more game, hopefully we do well.
