You’re speaking about formal education and not education in general. Someone who spends a year on a film set might learn lot more than someone who spends four years on a degree. Therefore the former could be more educated than the latter.

That might be a minor possibility but it rarely ever happens in actuality. Most of these film industry people can barely speak sense for 10 minutes in a row. They are neither educated formally nor informally.

Actually, no. Getting practical exposure is way better than some theoretical knowledge. But it is subjective, so you may not see it the same way, which is fine.

But saying one is more qualified because they're better educated is a wrong thing to say. To say they have an upper hand due to their formal education, which will give them a headstart in their career, is still ok. I just don't agree with using the word education loosely, because there are many forms of acquiring education; going to a formal school is just one of them, but isn't necessarily the best form of learning.
