Gadthuthi: To show RG supremacy or to appease regressive audiences?? - Page 2

I haven’t been watching the show much lately as it’s become unbearable, but OMG can’t believe they actually showed this !!! Considering the show is TRP topper and has mass outreach , they REALLY need to act responsibly in atleast showing these things correctly . Feeding even a drop of honey to a baby before a year can prove to be fatal - but unfortunately many households in India continue this practice even against dr’s and gynaecologist’s advice . N the show is actually promoting this practice in name of “ Sanskruti” or whatever !!!!

As someone commented , if they really wanted to show Anupamaa as supportive Maa , they could have shown her helping Kinjal in breastfeeding. Would have been more realistic ( it actually happened with me in initial days after my child’s birth that I was struggling to get a hang of it and my MIL supported me as she had experience with breastfeeding 3 kids ) . Would have sent the message of importance of breastfeeding also , which is lacking even in Urban cities in India .
Tagging some people who I know are on Twitter, pls raise this issue guys as we know the makers and actor are more active on it .
After making a mockery of social issues , atleast showing medical malpractices in the name of drama and creative liberty needs to STOP ✋

It is unfortunate that 50yrs of Indian govt's. Grassroots level efforts to curb such regressive customs like gadhuthi, countless regional educators, gramin workers, educating new moms, families against such baseless traditions and promoting colostrum as 1st and most nutritious feed have been wiped out by 30 second scene in ITVs most popular serial Anupamaa!

Does rajan Shahi and DKP production, writers not have any civic responsibility!

Should they not use the platform responsibility to eradicate such dakiyanusi customs rather than bringing them back.

I have stopped interacting with any posts related to Anupama. Also, some/most people on Twitter are very defensive and always on edge. Say anything about Anupama/Anuj/plot they are ready to attack you as if we are badmouthing the actors. And to be honest it is just a waste of time to tag the makers.

Thanks for the article, reading the cursory update I was also suprised with feeding honey. Its obviously not pasteurized, so logically thought it could lead to issues.
