But here they are actually promoting a medical malpractice which is unfortunately prevalent still in large parts of India even amongst the educated folks . I’m guessing outside India a strict check is kept in hospitals post delivery on what is given as first feed , but in India doctors , gynaecologists , new mothers have to literally fight with grandparents and relatives to not follow this practice of feeding honey or make the baby guzzle down formula instead of the miracle first food colostrum . I have witnessed it myself .

A PIL can actually be issued against the makers for this .

This is the first time I am seeing a serial promoting honey feeding to newborns. In late 80s social messages like deliver your baby in a hospital, feed your baby only breast milk for the first 6 months of life, etc were promoted through serials and commercials. But the TRP topper show in 2022 is promoting a grand mother feeding her newborn grandchild honey. I am shocked that RG gave her consent for this scene. She is a mother of a kid. Did she feed her newborn baby honey? There is a limit to creative liberty. You still can show people coming back from dead but can't glorify anything that causes death.

The “ doktor bhais “ of this show are extremely inefficient... Anupamaa’s pyaar and dekhbhaal managed to miraculously cure Anuj of brain trauma ( not once but twice 🙄) and paralysis , toh Phir C section toh kya cheez hai ... In fact before starting surgeries or delivery procedures, gynacs and drs should chant “ Anupamaa Anupamaa “ for success 🤣

Writing on the show is beyond ridiculous... N they’ll still get ITV awards for best writing , story and dialogues!!!!

Oh, I was not aware of this issue in certain parts of India

I find a lot of ITV shows malpractice without any consequence.

A similar thing happened in anothet Starplus show where a first time mother was allowed to be surrogate, despite the laws

Unfortunately the shows are not govenered by an outside body like movies are by Censor Board. The shows regulating body is made of actual show producers, where they are supposed to self-regulate.

Hence no surprise they are showing this.

The only acceptable solution here is that the makers edit the video and remove the scene and also do not telecast it on the TV timings.

The show has not yet been broadcasted for the major public who watch it on TV and they are actually the more impressionable crowd.

Hotstar has edited/deleted videos before too, due to backlash, they can do it again.

For a change let's object to a superstitious malpractice shown in a mainstream show!!

Yes the damage can still be undone. Just chop the scene from both Hotstar and TV. RG as a responsible citizen should put up a insta post seeking a public apology as she is the most influential. one from the show.

Surrogacy is something major, I wouldn't expect an average viewer to incorporate it in their own life. But medical things like mental health discussions or paediatric habits are easy to get inspired from.

Remember how strong the backlash was when Anupamaa discussed Mukku's marital abuse and gave credit to Vanraj that she is glad she was never physically abused, thereby belittling women who are only mentally abused in marriages. The makers quickly added a scene few epis later to do damage control when Anupamaa privately rebukes Vanraj that she was also abused but she didn't want to embarrass him in front of Anuj/Mukku hence said positive words about him there.

I wish makers do strong damage control here too

I checked the Anupamaa HT on Twitter . Except Vaibhavi, I don’t think anyone has cared to raise the issue ... Waise toh they keep fighting over a million other irrelevant things 🙄

A few of us can post on Insta, but still not sure it will be impactful ....

Even I’m surprised RG allowed this scene , she has spoken previously about her struggles with breastfeeding so she should be definitely aware about it ...

As an anganwadi volunteer, I am strongly disappointed in your scene showing the practice of Gadthuthi in Anupamaa when it has been medically instructed strictly for babies to not eat anything except mother's milk until they are 6 months old and doctors worldwide recommend only colostrum to be the ideal first baby food.

I sincerely hope you take our feelings into account and get this scene removed from episode 670.

Please also message similar content to them in respectful language so that they consider this.
