I get what the writer was attempting to do here. in many conservative corners, even if a woman is being physically abused, her family is often reluctant to take her in or her children. they are afraid of losing their perceived 'izzat' or just don't want to take on a financial burden. instead, she is asked to adjust or is pointed out the good side of the husband or to accept that a marriage comes with good and bad. etc etc etc. nahid is supposed to represent the society who thinks that once married, you are to accept it all and just make a go of it.

however, the reason, nahid's dialogues fail is because of the setting and timing. they are in a hospital and her husband has undergone heart surgery because of the stress from shamsher. it makes zero sense that a woman would be more concerned with trying to find sympathy for shamsher rather than being spitting mad that her husband was in critical danger.

Umm If i just see only naheef i dont think so she was bad in saying maybe shamsher is not that bad, i mean they could have said it in much better way. Like shamsher ziddi hai but ye uska ek alag rukh dekha hai yakeen nai aa raha kya sahi hai kya galat hai and something like insaan ko galat uske halath banate hai if they really want to glorify this guy then glorify the mental problems he is going through unknowingly.

I have a reason why I feel nahid is okay saying this, but offcourse not this way she shoulf have said it thoda aur crisp ya describe karte.

Frankly jab mehak pehle maani thi to ab bhi usne manna na hi tha, that is how laacahr she and family has shown it. They fought for her life but couldnt go farther as eventually she cambe back to that trap only.

Anyway nahid is why justified in thinking that maybe shamshrr is not that bad because she doesnt know what actually happened with her husban and baba sahib dilawar face off, she didnt see it. Husband bta hi rha tha ki ludak gya, she doesnt really know yet that how shamsher family or shamsher is treating mehak in the house. Usko nai pata hai ki bhabhi phone use nai karne deti hai, kamre se bahar nai nikalti hai mehak. She has not seen mehak trying to meet her father and shamsher doing the usual ghasitna of his heroine 😂

So abhi use pata nai hai ki pati ke saath actual hua kya tha and usko ghar ke kutto ke khane se compare kiya, ya zaleel kiya all she knows is her daughter died few months back she got back daughter but lived apart then daughter married and then husband ludkofy.

Obviously I am not saying the mother is justified in saying her daughter to give this marriage a chance but she could have enlighten more on shamsher character and individual traits rather telling mehak ab to nikkah hogaya hai na and etc etc.

Though I think dure did act in that scene wit laila above all other scenes in that episode but then she is having a thought when shamsher says madam ka mood kharab hai was too early for a filler episode also. Matlab upar ke tweets mein sahi kaha vo kisi aur ko beziti nai karne de raha hai but khud to kar chuka hai na and aagey bhi karega hi. Shamsher is one character which is at too extreme itna to kabir singh bhi nai tha isliye we are finding the dots to connect difficult.

Inhone ye extremeness itna glorify kardiya hai and then idk redemption bhi itna glorify kar payenge ya nai

I mean when she says you have not left me capable to stand in my own society leave aside yours, maybe its too early for redemption thing because shamsher kodeep inside pata hai what he has done with her is wrong but he needs to really understand that its wrong too. Knowing and understanding are two different things.

Idk if bhatti and radian will ever be able to do justice with redeeeming game. Because other wise it is just another story.

I doubt umeed to ab mujhe hai nai itne bhand to pehle hi maar chuke hain

so I have been thinking some more about our previous convos -- I also think that the problem with the drama is that the actress playing mehak does not have enough expression to display the range this role requires. she is trying but she does not have the experience or the natural ability to emote subtlety.

with another strong actress like saba or sanam saeed, the viewer reaction would have been far different and would be more on the lines of the old movie "sleeping with the enemy". we would have felt her rage, her fear, her frustration, her calculation, her resignation -- everything! and viewers would have been in support for the girl to run.

in that movie, the abusive husband was great to watch because he did seem creepy for reals but julia roberts was far superior. here it is reverse. danish dances circles around her in terms of acting. this means, rather than the story being about mehak, it has instead become about shamsher. hence the confusion on whether shamsher is the antagonist or the love interest.

that said, in this episode, there were small moments that show that shamsher is not going to get his way completely. he can force mehak but he cannot force his family members or society to accept her. he is acknowledging that there is something off and mehak is not responding to him the way he thought. there is a distance but he is clueless about why there is. he is also a carbon copy of his father who thinks the world revolves around them. they both need brutal reality checks.
