Tons of movies with bad acting by the heroine have done wonders at the box office. Simply because mostly heroines barely have a role in such films, especially commercial Telugu flicks where they are even treated as a prop. Don't think it is a new awakening, it is just that the movie is simply shite, like so many other movies of the director, even Vijay's movies were flopping anyway starting from NOTA to that great grand world famous movie. If movie was entertaining, nobody would have given two hoots about Ananya's acting or lack of it. She is just an easy breezy target.

ETA: Rashmika's role in that Mahesh soldier cum super hero movie is one of the worst I have ever witnessed as an audience, it still traumatizes me, but it was easily given a free pass so yeah, don't think people care about anything until they are getting their dose of heavy entertainment and adrenaline from the massy hero's action.

I agree that bad performances go unnoticed when film clicks, but that is not just the heroines, mediocre editing, music eveyrthing may escape attention

in fact i have seen performances of pooja in RS, avplo and rashmika in pushpa also criticised, yes they do fade fast if film succeeds

from the criticism I have seen, vd, puri, ananya everybody is getting thrashed. i dont think most are saying the film failed because of her, everybody knows that a flower pot role cannot effect that

in fact vd will really have to give hits or will fade out, it is do or die, puri's career has ended,

ananya will go on

yes, you are right if the film succeded she would have escaped, now she didnt, so bad luck

i would rather sympatise with a sai pallavi who put her heart and soul into virata parvam which was not upto the mark

which is why despite the below par commercial performance of her films she is still respected even by general audience

but bottom line ananya is being criticised because she gave aa bad performance which is not unfair

times have changed very rapidly in the past few years, who would have thought aamir will be panned like that, so lot of performances which escaped scrutiny earlier would have not done so now. ppl are also being harsher with these nepo kids and given their privelege

This Ananya bashing and blaming is so unnecessary. As if these masala flicks have something for the heroine to offer . It's out and out Anaconda's movie. If anything here to blame it's shoddy script and Vijay's anaconda mouth which gobbled the movie's chances.

Even if the movie did well at the box office, Ananya's acting would have been ridiculed 😆 while Vijay would have received all the praise & credit.

Because he, not Ananya, is the movie's draw for audiences, it is only reasonable to hold him accountable for the failure at this point.

Although criticising her poor acting is reasonable, blaming her for the failure of the film is quite illogical.

Bringing Sai Pallavi into a discussion involving Ananya Pandey is like bringing your real life qualifications into fun online personalities, takes away the fun of it and there is not much of back and forth you can do. That lady is a different league altogether. 😆

my point was that general audience are appreciative of good performers and effort

there are also tons of movies where actresses like samantha, anushka or even kareena, have done flower pot roles and the movie was bad but they were never criticised as they do what is required

as for those blamimg ananya for the failure will be the hero fans,

hero fans in any language are a category best ignored, they will blame anybody and anything except their idol and they wont change
