I think Alia was always over hyped and over promoted. Comparing her to legends like Meryl Streep or giving her too many films, exposure, media hype, awards on a platter, endorsements on a platter so early and exposure in KWK also so early in career was indeed shoving her down throats of audience.

It is not same as SRK doing lot of films with YRF. YRF did not launch him or ensured bazillion endorsements, talk shows for him or got him undeserved awards so soon in career. He became inhouse YRF fav only after an ATBB like DDLJ. He was established star already when he first worked with Dharma. Dharma was not promoting SRK as a newbie. Rather K Jo benefitted from SRK and Kajol.

Some just get too much attention, hype, awards, ads, media being soft on them. Alia and Abhishek are examples of it and to some extent Kareena also who is a media darling of sorts.

Why has outsider Kangana hired only her brother and sister in production house? Why outsider Anushka also hired only her brother in her production house? Why outsider Aishwarya Rai brought her brother Aditya as a producer in her first home production Dil Ka Rishta?

Why do these outsiders also clamour to bring family in showbiz or marry industry kids or celebs to raise own profile? Like Akshay always ran after industry girls like Raveena and Twinkle and finally settled with Twinkle and boasts of being Rajesh Khanna's son in law?

Why outsider Aishwarya also looked for BFs within industry or from big film families rejecting all other proposals she got from even billionaires all over the world?

I said it sometime ago. When an outside gets a taste of power they will do these same things.

Alia made her debut in 2012, when digital media was in a boom. We have so many mediums, so why not use them at their best? Awards carry no value when Srk himself has confessed to giving a buy offer for Baazigar. That isn't a big thing. If you do a film like Highway, award milega hi milega. Shahid's role as Haider won awards(2014), Aamir's PK was kept aside. That's why art films always gain awards.

Endorsement on a platter? Why would anyone invest in her if she isn't giving them business? She is giving them business and then they will sign her, no?

Dangal/Haider came different years. Dangal and Haider both got Best actor for leads

I agree on K Jo and his habit of inviting mostly industry brats on his show. I think earlier Simi also used to invite mostly star families and their kids on her show. It was hideous to see Esha, Abhishek, Ahana, Shweta Bachchan on her show and even Sushmita's daughter Renee. Or play family videos of Kapoors, Gandhis, Ambanis, Birlas etc on show. Which star kids are arrogant? Except Kareena or Sonam 9r Harshvardhan IDK which one has shown attitude.

K Jo went overboard promoting Alia and it is true she has been shoved down throats of audience but earlier star kids were also over promoted. Kajol used to get opportunities on a platter in 90s and so did Rani. Kareena also got lot more attention, PR, awards and offers. Abhishek has forever been promoted thanks to his family.

How come nepo kids of South like Prabhas, Ram Charan, NTR Jr and Rana are no issue for audience then?

I am not specifying any timeline as to when and how the outrage over nepotism started, my point was in this digital age, nothing can be hidden. everything u speak or comment can come bite u.

most of the star kids act privileged and there are multiple interviews where this has been witnessed.

Kareena and Sonam also got their fair share of bashing for their attitude and statements.

Again, u cant compare 90s ke star kids with today's generation bcoz aak kal ke star kids are in your face all the time, thanks to heavy social media presence and their PR.

Abhishek and Kareena have got heavy bashing on their acting skills and how they are everything today bcoz of their families, who said otherwise?

Coming to south families, not everyone in India watched their films earlier. yes, it has absolutely changed in the past few years. Since they are not in your face all the time, I guess people dont bring up the issue of nepotism in south otherwise it is even more prevalent in south industry than in hindi film industry. There might be certain section of people who follow south cinema religiously who are aware of nepostism but from what I have seen of these south actors, their attitude is widely different than hindi film stars which resonates with the audience and they love them regardless of their background. I am not saying this is a fact, I am assuming this based on what I have seen so far.

This is a fact. Akshay has always taken prestige and pride in being son in law of Dimple and Rajesh Khanna and wanted to attach himself to legacy. He was Casanova but never left Twinkle because she was a prize catch due to her legacy. He hesitated to say nepotism sucks when Arnab asked him to because obviously he too will launch his kids in showbiz one day. Sunil is an outsider but launched his own son and justified nepotism. His colleagues were promoting his son's launch all over SM.

I bet if tomorrow Kangana wants to launch her nephew or any kid from her family she will do it, use her connections and power to get them launched. We will see where is nepotism rant then. Her only crib in life is inability to land a film industry BF and being dumped by industry kids like HR, Adhyan. Was she not dreaming to be Mrs Roshan someday?

This I have read so many times. This complaint is very popular in the forum. But I want to understand. How?

Alia has done a total of 14 films, 1 of which came recently on OTT. Kjo is not the only filmmaker we have in the industry to whom we expect to give all films, or can we see BIG Films?

Alia did 9 out of 14 films which were Dharma productions, but this isn't new or the first time some production house has done anything like this. We have so many actor-directors and actor-production houses doing films.

We have SRK doing the majority of his films with YRF/Dharma. Wasn't that shoving SRK down the audience's throat?

for KJo, it was business! he was earning money so he continued giving movies to Alia but I think what the majority's issue is (again I am assuming not saying everyone thinks the same) that she was promoted heavily by him and still is by constantly saying things like she is the no. 1 actress, had the most magical wedding and the most beautiful love story. All these things being repeated and reiterated constantly on his own show which he knows is watched across the globe definitely does not help Alia's case. If anything, people are more and more irked by this constant promotion.

Otherwise, if u bring it out in a way say production house and actor's collaboration then its nothing wrong as long as it benefits both. That has happened before in all the industries so no one is complaining about that. There are multiple interviews, articles and sometimes even direct quotes from various outlets that lot of films that Alia ended up doing were not originally offered to her. Some scripts were even tweaked to fit her personality (these are all not conjectures). Most of these films were produced by Dharma and this is where the issue lies.

Bhai, if all the good scripts are easily coming to your lap then where is the real competition?? then articles like challenging Khan patriarchy also doesnt help.

Trash idea of making everything money/promotion centric, and not working on a good script. Promoting more talentless starkids.

there is absolutely no denying that. Money and Power is a deadly combo. yeh artists log jitna bhi bole ke I am here to act and do this and what not, but truth is they want money and power more than anything which is they obviously try to stay within the inner circle of bollywood.

I am in no way taking away the genuine act in their acting but it is what it is!

1. Kjo say whatever he want doesn't make it eternal truth, we are offended if he is singing Alia No.1?

2. His show is watched globally, but it isn't the only show, ppl who are irked can opt for not seeing the show. They can even ignore this as Kjo is bias for Alia, so mention will come.

3. Regarding Roles - Where all this came from that she snatched projects, which projects, out of her 14 films, Highway, Raazi & Darlings got critics good reviews, rest are average to normal, which project she snatched, which roles were so powerful that this theory comes? Even if Dharma made films with her, what was wrong in it, Didn't Rakesh roshan made films with hrithik, few of his biggest hits. Govinda-David dhawn bombo, Ghai-Anil Kapoor. How is it so big a problem if Dharma makes film taker her as lead? Dharma films are not GOLD STANDARD of India Cinema, are they? That if you aren't in a Dharma film, you aren't that good, that outsider couldn't do a Dharma film, so let's blame Alia & Kjo for it?
