It looks like this was a not a planned move. They were not planning Samrat's exit, at least not so soon. The actor wanted to leave and they had to accommodate that. My only point why not replace the actor, than rush the script at lightening speed.

The gave confession, remarriage, consummation all within 2 weeks. That is rare in ITV. And they played with plausible integral and high trp tracks. They sacrificed all of it to bring in the exit.

Look at how the pace has now slowed down.

Without getting into the emotional and conceptual aspect, Samrat and P's divorce was never meant to be. One Samrat even in his statue form was someone who had a grip on P through their marriage. P is a constant angle of the show and to keep her relevant she needs to be in CN. With Sai pregnant she will lose her place completely. It is only her sympathetic state that will get her the attention back
