Oh wow. This video. 🤢 What an elitist, insufferable POS this guy is. Does he think only him and his elitist clique of friends have the right to speak/understand English? Now am no fan at all of runout but this elitism is why outsiders in the industry feel resentment for the insiders. But I shouldn't be surprised. He has always been this way.

I understand your point of view but I don’t necessarily agree with you. Specially about the video I shared making Karan look good. I don’t think it does. First of all he’s mocking her English comprehension by saying he’s glad she knows what the word means. Then immediately tries to argue that nepotism only applies to family (obviously not remembering his statement from the original video TM posted here). Technically it does but I doubt his reaction would have been that of concession had Kangana called him flag bearer of cronyism. He’s arguing semantics, and then trying to claim that directors like Shakun Batra or Shashank Khaitan means he’s not the flag bearer of nepotism. For every Batra or Khaitan there a Mukerjee, Varman, Malhotra (Punit and Karan), Irani, and so forth. You already covered his ā€œthen leaveā€ comment and how wrong he was there. So no, IMO he did not come off good here.

I also don’t agree that my original statement was propaganda for the same reasons I just mentioned above. I should have used a different way of putting my point across, but my statement wasn’t a completely false narrative. Karan’s statements definitely had strong implications of denial.

As for Kangana and nepotism, yes her hiring her sister as her manager is nepotism but I don’t think her situation is the same as Karan’s casting decisions. Kangana’s nepotism is very localized, for lack of a better word. Karan’s continued practice of nepo … cronyism (and Salman’s and Zoya’s and Sajid Nadiadwala’s etc etc) affects the future of cinema and movies. Yes Kangana took a potential job away from one qualified manager but the aforementioned directors and producers are constantly denying amazing potential talents in favor of their friends’ kids. Is Kangana a hypocrite? Yes. But in no way is she doing the same kind of damage to the world of cinema that KJo and company have been doing. Also, since Kangana’s manager will be dealing with a lot of private and personal issues involving Kangana she can always claim that trust was a main reason for hiring her sister as her manager. She wouldn’t be the first celebrity to have a family member as a manager.

Only have time for a quick-ish response...

Your disagreements are valid, fair enough. And yes I definitely agree with some. He does sneakily try to imply that it only refers to family. Backed into a corner trying to defend himself by any means = is not a good look.

About the "Propaganda" - omg sorry 🤣I absolutely did not mean YOU were operating in that manner. Not at all. I meant that, when you said you were "going by memory" (and what you remembered was consequentially incorrect) ...I was saying that it was a result of Propaganda from others, which may have affected you. You know, like that line "if you repeat a line often enough, it becomes truth).

Last quick bit: I staunchly disagree with your last point. But I don't have time to go into it. Maybe later. But what I will say is, regarding "damage to the world of cinema"... I think the fact that "nepotism" has given us such great talents and icons of cinema as Nargis, Nutan, Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Asha Bhosle, Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kajol, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Zoya Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and so so so so so many others says otherwise.

(my point here is not that nepotism has produced talent, so it should be accepted, nope. I think nepotism is wrong. My point is about the comparison of "good nepotism" (Kangana) vs "bad nepotism" (Karan).

[I knew this was gonna end up long]
