This clip was a big deal a few years ago when after his fight with Kangana he completely denied practicing any form of nepotism. That was the first time I saw it. It completely changed his defense narrative after it was circulating all over social media 😆.

But now a days I don’t think it even matters. He’s blatantly and unapologetically casting his friends’ kids in movies. Not just him but even his other filmmaker friends are doing it now too. This clip will have a better use for the actual star kids who claim that their last names had nothing to do with how they got their roles.

KJo has moved on 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Okay, what a minute. We are all free to dislike or like anyone. Fair enough.

Criticism should be accepted by all, even if differing opinions. It's art, so it's subjective.

But what we should not do is start creating false narratives, which I think you might be doing here. I would love to be wrong, so if you can find or direct me to where I might find a clip of Karan Johar "completely denying any form of practicing nepotism" please do so and accept my humble apology in advance. Because as far as I know, he's never done any thing of the sort.

I am a big fan of his. But if someone says he's conniving or elitist or even evil or a terrible film-maker, I won't argue with that, I think that's fair. So I don't understand why people need to make things up when there is so much verified content freely available to choose from - in which to vilify him.

I was thinking of this video below when I said he was denying practicing nepotism and was going by memory. I just watched the video again and he doesn’t say the words “I have never engaged in nepotism,” although he briefly touches on the definition of nepotism and how he’s never hired a family member. You have a valid point since the video leaves enough room against “completely denying practicing any form of nepotism” which was my original sentence. I should have worded my argument better. I do think his denial is implied even if he doesn’t use the word. It might come down to a semantics argument though. Was he denying ever being engaged in nepotism at all or was he only denying being the flag bearer of nepotism? Because once again, a denial of something regarding nepotism is strongly implied in his words IMO.

Thank you for responding, with your source ❤️

That is what my problem is: (you said you were "going by memory"...) = PROPAGANDA.

The way certain sections of the media/influencers (and their fans or their haters) intentionally or unintentionally create false narratives and false projections, without context nor facts is what has created this ecosystem of toxicity and fake news. I think it's dangerous, and I don't think we've seen the worst of it yet. When I read comments about Sushant Singh Rajput, and the people accused of causing his death: from Karan to Alia to Deepika to Tiger Shroff, it's just like erm wtf is going on you guys??

This clip you posted is brilliant* 😆❤️ I have of course seen the full version years ago but this short part, especially the last 90 seconds or so of what he says - it's everything I love about this man. It actually makes him look good, so whoever posted it with the intention of harming may have done the opposite.

*(exception: I hate it when he says she "should leave" if she doesn't like it, that is disgusting and wrong, if someone doesn't like something and wants to change it, we shouldn't ask them to leave their industry or country or whatever. I mention "country" here because it reminds me of when people have said to me "why don't you leave then" when I have mentioned being a victim of racism at work. And it is also often said to Black and Brown people "why don't you go back to your own country/leave" if you don't like it, yuck)

Back on topic. And I know I've mentioned this a few times already on this forum, but it usually just gets a "lol" response, instead of a serious conversation point...

And that is, if we look at the definition of NEPOTISM - it would actually apply more to Kangana Ranaut - because she has employed her own, UNQUALIFIED, family members in paid positions. Her sister Rangoli was her official manager.

(I don't know if this is still the case, because I absolutely do not follow what these girls are doing)

SO yeah, if Kangana Ranaut is so against nepotism did she select her sis? Why didn't she make it fair and square, hold interviews with aspiring hard-working outsiders who are actually qualified or have the enthusiasm? She knows how hard it is to get your foot in the door for a career in showbiz.

But no, she chose to do a nepotism. 🤪

We all practice nepotism in our lives....why blame KJO alone??

He uses his own money to cast whoever he wants......He is not a bloody politician or a samaj sudharak...neither has he ever claimed it....he is a movie maker and he has the right to do whatever he wants as long as he is not using public's hard earned money...the way politicians do....go raise the voice against the politicians for nepotism...because they use your money...

and KJo asked Kangna to get out of BW....awesome...well you know what...the trash took out itself for once...👍🏼

I don’t think karan ever denied indulging in favouritism or nepotism ,

He just said his business is his business and none of our business or kangus business …and it’s fair …his company …his investment …he dosent want to invest on kangu (after dhakkad no one wants to anyway) and thats his choice ….
