Excellent Sunday for Gangubai Kathiawadi

Gangubai Kathiawadi will have an excellent Sunday in the range of 15 crore nett as Gujarat, UP and MP show growth in the 40-50% range and maybe even more. The film had a good opening day in mass led pockets for a female led film and consolidated on Saturday and Sunday has gone up strongly.

The growth in the bigger centres will be 10-15% which is also pretty good for a Sunday and overall it will be a 20% gain on Sunday. The Nizam / Andhra circuit will do 2.60-2.70 crore nett in Hindi which is a very big number considering a huge Telugu release which has done well over the weekend. It will be standout collection for the film as per circuits go.

Mumbai will finish with around 12.50-13 crore nett which also good though Delhi / UP could have done better as it will finish at around 6 crore nett. There will be 100% occupancy and night shows from Monday in Delhi which is not only a boost for Gangubai Kathiawadi but for the industry as a whole.

The Overseas numbers are also impressive for the film and may well finish around $2.5 million and this is despite Gulf not firing. US / Canada will cross $1 million while UK should be around £200k. In UK there is a chance it could be the highest opening post the pandemic for a HIndi film.

I think Maharastra where SLB movie score most is at 50% capacity. Still very good numbers . Seriously I was worried about this movie , the subject might not go well with everyone, and movie not performing this well at windows . But damn each one coming out of theatres giving positive reviews , especially gaga over Alia

NEVER THOUGHT ALIA WILL GET WHISTLE PERFORMING A DANCE , she is moving in a DANGEROUS DEOT NOW. 😻

Now I believe the standing ovations at Berlin film festival . So good to see a female movie getting this kind of reaction ; she did not have to strip in this movie , no skin show; like heroes strip their shirts and show off their 6 packs to get whistles

Whatever the real figure is, it’s credited LARGELY due to SLB. Even Deepika has big openings with him but Chapakk and Piku opened to single digits.

Oh I don’t care for anything that shithole says. I don’t care for the BO collections only for that matter. It’s just that being a BW fan,I am eager for the BW to have one clean hit in terms of the business post Pandemic and things become normal like before. Although for me it’s enough if I can enjoy the movie without having to squirm in my seat looking at my watch all the time or dozing off. :)
