Yeah its quite amusing. I remember when the dehli riots were happening and some Indian Hindus in muslim countries (like the UAE) were posting really extreme hateful stuff against Muslims and then they lost their jobs & were all surprised lol.

I have heard UP hindi medium board is tough, and I know people who have studied in those boards - their history is really good.

I think the reason Dara’s story is missing because he was not an emperor. School books only cover kings, wars etc. kids have too much to cram and in India, people give importance to science and maths.

By the way, Indian textbooks barely touch any world history. Most Indians don’t know about what Nazis did to Jews.

Hitler pata hai, but unless you go and do some extra reading apart from school books you won’t know.

Many don’t even know how US was created and there are some people called native Americans 😂

UP/Bihar actually has some very brainy people. The Kayastha community from there are known for their intellect. But those cheating videos take the cake 😆

We had American Revolution too btw, and both the World Wars. I did some extra reading and found out about Native American civilizations like the Mayans...thats a very interesting read too.

And they showed us an Anne Frank documentary...could hardly sleep for a week after that.

I used to read a lot and had the Anne Frank diary. I actually got the book after watching v some Disney episode where they have the book in their course so I brought it too 😆

I was 11-12 at the time, and that’s how I found out about atrocities commuted by Nazis.

The Kayastha community people are actually everywhere. Lol.. but it’s mostly the elite educated kayasth come from UP, and yes they are highly educated.

I once checked Maharashtra SSC board question paper (I think it was science).. it was far too easy 😆

People here can be CAs, engineers but still have no general awareness.
