War was a crappy film. I don't know Atlee, but the trailers of his movies seem frankly terrible.

I agree with the overall narrative of this video. Though I liked Fan & Raees very much & don't really understand how they didn't perform well. In my opinion Jab Harry Met Sejal & Zero were the biggest disasters that pulled him down. Happy New Year wasn't anything charming either but it still somehow managed to earn a hit status, which baffles me further because both Fan & Raees were better movies than that.🤔

No one forced the directors to go stupid. You act like SRK is the director. Aanand L. Rai even admitted that he screwed up with Zero and got overwhelmed.

It's a shame those two didn't do better but I think Fan just lacked mass appeal. Content driven movies only work in Bollywood if there is some patriotism shoved in it or a social issue. Fan had neither and also no songs.

Raees focused on a muslim gangster and portrayed him as sympathetic which didn't connect with the Indian audience and was controversial.

HNY was more of a typical masala movie, dumb but nothing controversial so it was a superhit. Hopefully Pathan is good and does well.
