Honestly Raees and Fan are underrated, yeah they are flawed movies no doubt but considering the trash that is regulary successful at the box office (like rohit shetty movies, generic half assed biopics etc.) I would say they were refreshing and deserved to be clean hits at least.

But I think they were not appealing to the Indian audience who prefer more heroic masala stuff (shit like Simmba) instead of something focused on a Muslim gangster (Raees) and if its content driven they definitely prefer something patriotism focused (no matter how tacky, see Akshays movies lately) and not something niche like Fan. The rest of his movies in the last few years were really shitty though especially JHMS and Zero where even as a hardcore fan I could barely watch them once. Its weird how critically acclaimed directors like Imtiaz Ali and Aanand Rai went completely stupid when working with him

Overall it can't be denied that SRK has declined and has failed to connect with the audience since Chennai Express and had a terrible decade. Pathan seems like the right move, shit like Zero was just too weird and he is too old to be a romantic hero but I hope its a well done masala movie unlike Dilwale

The video is quite good tbh. dude seems to be a fan and praises SRK's acting. I disagree with some of his points.

Overall I love SRK but one can't deny his decline. Even he knows it which is why he took a break and has talked about failures like Zero, JHMS and Fan

SRK's stardom and legacy will always be there, no dispute there but the important part for every actor are the current box office collections. SRK hasn't even had a real hit since HNY back in 2014 (and his last blockbuster was CE). None of his movies in the past 6 years have even done close to 200 crore (hell 3 of them didn't even do 100 crore). That's unacceptable for a superstar like SRK
