- Salman never tasted stardom later. His debut MPK itself was an ATBB and few years later he gave another ATBB in HAHK. He gave hits like Saajan, Sanam Bewafa, Patthar ke Phool, Judwa, Jeet, HSSH, Pyar kiya toh darna kya, Biwi no.1, Jab Pyar kisi se hota hai, Dulhan Hum Le jayenge etc in 90s itself. When Akshay was a nobody and just had Mohra, Khiladi, Yeh Dillagi and Waqt Hamara hai as few hits.
Only someone who ignores 90s would say Salman tasted stardom later. He was neck to neck and even toppled SRK many times till 2000. Even in his low phase in 2000s he gave hits like Tere Naam, Maine Pyar kyu kiya, No Entry, Wanted.
Dabangg of course later took his stardom to another level.
- Aamir gave hits like QSQT, Dil, HHRPK, Rangeela, Ghulam, Sarfarosh, Dil Hai ki Manta Nahi, Ishq and ATBB Raja Hindustani in 90s itself. Akshay was nowhere close to Aamir in 90s. Aamir has hits like Lagaan, DCH, Fanaa, RDB, TZP, Ghajini in 2000s itself and not just last decade. Even his flop Mangal Pandey the Rising broke all first week collection records in 2005 when Akshay and co could only dream of those opening collections. Akshay trailed after even Govinda and Sunny Deol in 90s. He was considered a B grade actor and even SRK once called him a junk food hero in 90s. Akshay has picked up only after 2007 with success of Namaste London. Otherwise he was never a force to reckon with at BO. Hrithik, Khans were doing way better than Akshay in 2000s. He has NO ATBB in his entire career till date unlike Khans who have multiple ATBBs since 90s itself. So I am amused how can anyone drag Akshay in any topic on stardom or compare him to Khans.
Akshay does NOT even have as many yearly top grossers as Khans.
- PR? LOL! Aamir and Salman had banned media in 90s. Aamir never did PR at all. Rather he never spoke to media for 15 years and never attended awards either. Aamir and Salman rather got less acknowledged for their success simply because they did no PR nor licked boots of media. The only media and PR savvy star among all these 3 is SRK.
Aamir still does not attend awards. Not even for money unlike others who perform at all shows for atleast money if not awards.
Rather Aamir and Salman have organic support from audience as they are not into PR at all not feed biscuits to media. Aamir particularly does not lick boots of any political party or PM or PM candidate just to get favours from politicians in power. Unlike others who flew kites with politicians or attended matches with them or partied with politicians. Aamir made it purely on his merit, despite being reclusive and is the only star who has audience waiting to see him no matter what breaks he takes. Unlike others who do bazillion ads for even toilet cleaners and underwear and do dozen films a year to stay in limelight and fear being forgotten if they were not visible enough.
Aamir is also a more conscious celebrity and never endorsed products like cigarettes or alcoholic drinks unlike others who endorse anything for money. He earned even more credibility from audience when he stopped endorsing Coca Cola and refused deal worth crores because Coca Cola was called out for controversy around groundwater pollution in its factories. Even his TV show Satyamev Jayate was on social issues and educating people and not a mere stunt based reality show.
Aamir is anyday more versatile than Akshay and aced all films you mentioned be it TZP, RDB or PK. He has played everything from tapori to teacher to alien. He did patriotic films and social films way before Akshay. His films are classics and his production Lagaan even got Oscar nomination.
Whereas Akshay makes run of the mill films and none of his films will ever be nominated at Oscars or BAFTA nor does he have as many films rated above 8 on IMDB as Aamir has.
Akshay has not even given as good or iconic films as Salman and SRK. His only memorable or iconic film is Hera Pheri. No Akki films matches iconic status of TZP, RDB, DDLJ, HAHK, HSSH, MPK, QSQT, DCH, 3 Idiots etc.
Akshay is working now because he does more films than Khans and does whatever that comes his way whereas Khans are more selective and choosy.
Khans ae anyday more versatile than Akshay. No one can imagine Akshay doing Lagaan, CDI, Swades, HAHK, TZP, 3 Idiots, PK, Darr, Phir Milenge, Sarfarosh, Rangeela, or even Ghulam and Dabangg.
We all know how Khiladi 420 flopped and how no masala film of Akki came close to success of Ghajini and Dabangg, Bodyguard, ETT, D3, Ready.
All Khans are anyday bigger stars, bigger brands and icons than Akshay ever was or will be.
Even Hrithik and Sunny Deol have more yearly top grossers than Akshay Kumar.
Too bad that despite all ads and support from ruling party itself Akshay still could not give an ATBB in last 6 years at least.
