2nd wave lakhs and crores died

People are scared

There are no beds ventilators oxygen anything only super rich will get all that in hospital rest will die if they get serious like in 2nd wave in houses and roads

Except those who stay alone no one with family go to theatre

If you survive 3rd wave you can watch another 1 lakh movies later

No one wants to die to watch a theatre except some young professional or college going person or lowe middle class all who stay alone not with family

Rest have responsibilities of life and to waste their and family life over a 500 buck movie or 300 buck popcorn

No one wants to live with guilt that we went to theatre or mall tto enjoy and killed our spouse parent or grand parents etc like 2nd wave

When people in cities are not sending kids to school college everthing online till next june you truy think they will go to theatre in third wave and get themselves and their family killed or what?

By now 20% of population in cities must have got it easily omicron

Further another 30% have delta repeat

No vaccine is working

And with 5 doses also co morbid and above 60 will die

Because main function of virus is blood clotting

Box Office India explained it in the article that Spider Man and Pushpa are still going strong despite the new wave.

Just 83 can't be affected by the virus.

I heard good things about the movie. Is it really flopping or IF is declaring it a flop like we always do?

Well. the article is from Box Office India, saying it's not working. There are tweets on social media talking about the underperformance as well.

83 Second Day Early Estimate

Sunday 26 December 2021 01.00 IST Box Office India Trade Network

83 (Hindi) has collected around 16 crore nett on day two to take its two day to 28 crore nett with growth on day two set to be in the 30-35% region. The growth should have been more for the film as the opening day came out low and more importantly it was a national holiday for Xmas.

The film is facing obstacles outside the six metros cities as these places are well short of the level they should be. At some cinemas Spiderman No Way Home is collecting better and other places Pushpa (Hindi) has better collections and both these films are in week two.

https://boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=6567

The target audience of 83 is a chain like PVR but on Saturday a film like Pushpa (Hindi) has shown more growth despite it being a film for mass centres. The higher growth of Spiderman - No Way Home in this chain is a given as it has been strong at higher ends from day one but simply put a film like 83 should be growing more on a Xmas holiday in a chain like PVR than a film like Pushpa (Hindi).

If this was a regular Saturday rather than a national holiday then this sort of growth would have been okay as Sunday can show similar growth again but now the growth if any will be muted on Sunday as the metros are unlikely to grow. There should be some growth from mass centres but till date film is not doing well in these places.

It is a massive flop considering the budget is 200+ crore and it has managed to collect only around 16 crore on a national holiday which is far too low imo. Should have atleast done 25+ crore for it to have a chance. Now it will badly crash on monday. Audience has rejected it completely.

Anecdotal..

I want to watch the movie in a theatre for ranveer but the women in my family are tired of cricket.. They are saying it is bad enough to tolerate IPL for months, not interested to watch cricket in a theatre. Don't know if this is the sentiment with many 🤷

Why is the budget so high though?? what was the money spent on?? Ranveer's transformation?? People are saying it looks like a documentary....then how come such high budget?
