83 is going to be a big flop?

83 is heading for a very poor fate as the first day collections come in lower than expected with awful collections in UP and Maharashtra but the bigger problem is the limited growth on Xmas Day. The film should have grown 60-70% but it maybe limited to around 40-50% which is far too low.

This will mean a two day number of around 28-30 crore nett in hindi as day one is only 12 crore nett apprx and Xmas Day alone had to be doing around 25 crore nett for the film to have a chance of success. This film had a lot of hope pinned onto it by the industry but it seems to have gone wrong badly.

The mass pockets are still not able to grow much on Saturday which is a national holiday. There are a couple of states with more restrictions than day one but Spiderman and Pushpa seem to be showing normal trajectory so the problem seems to be more the actual film here with 83.

Spiderman and Pushpa continue to do well and its is 83 showing far more space capacity which will lead to showcasing changes in time.

They shouldve put it on the streaming sites

If a big movie like 83 will not do on well at the BO even after getting such great reviews, it's not a good sign for upcoming Bollywood movies.

But 83 can still improve. Let's wait.

I want to be selfish here.. this movie either hit or flop but worth to watch in theatre..

I am happy they took risk of waiting and releasing in theatre

Well...it was a huge mistake to release it after the juggernaut spiderman, which is still going strong.

Spiderman too came down to 1/5th of its opening .In normal weeks ,it would have been considered a huge drop,

The virus scare is real..and in the last week ,worse.Govt has announced boosters ..and vaccines for 12-18.

Other producers too,should be concerned about their upcoming films.

We shall know..when we compare post Covid films.

I also think that because Kabir has kept 83 as real as possible..almost documentary like..so much so that all cameos are shown in posters except Deepika's..people may want to wait.They know it is good though.Cricketers ,young and old have praised it.

Public wants to watch the film..But watch it like they have watched all the greatest sporting events ..on the Television.That is how they watch sports.Like I have planned to do.I am not going to the theaters till summer(hopefully)

I hope the other films are of the same quality as 83.That will be something they can be proud of..till the pandemic gets over.

2nd wave lakhs and crores died

People are scared

There are no beds ventilators oxygen anything only super rich will get all that in hospital rest will die if they get serious like in 2nd wave in houses and roads

Except those who stay alone no one with family go to theatre

If you survive 3rd wave you can watch another 1 lakh movies later

No one wants to die to watch a theatre except some young professional or college going person or lowe middle class all who stay alone not with family

Rest have responsibilities of life and to waste their and family life over a 500 buck movie or 300 buck popcorn

No one wants to live with guilt that we went to theatre or mall tto enjoy and killed our spouse parent or grand parents etc like 2nd wave

When people in cities are not sending kids to school college everthing online till next june you truy think they will go to theatre in third wave and get themselves and their family killed or what?

By now 20% of population in cities must have got it easily omicron

Further another 30% have delta repeat

No vaccine is working

And with 5 doses also co morbid and above 60 will die

Because main function of virus is blood clotting

That's like 3rd big flop on Christmas in a row after 2018 zero and 2019 dabangg 3 ??? Maybe Christmas only works for Aamir.
