Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha reportedly gets new release date before major box office clash

Yash Raj Films may be making another change to its release calendar as reports suggest that Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s upcoming action thriller Alpha could arrive in theatres earlier than planned.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on July 10, 2026. However, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers are now considering July 3, 2026, as the new release date after Dhamaal 4 reportedly shifted to July 17.

The report stated that the change could help Alpha secure a clearer run at the box office before multiple major releases arrive later in the month.

A source told the portal, “July 3 has emerged as an apt date to bring Alpha to cinemas since Dhamaal 4, which was scheduled to release on the same day, has now been pushed to July 17. With no major release planned for July 3, producer Aditya Chopra felt it was the right date to bring Alpha to theatres.”

Trade insiders also believe the timing may work strategically for the film. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Dhamaal 4 are both expected to release on July 17, giving Alpha nearly two weeks without direct competition.

Another source told the portal, “Alpha will now get two weeks to make the most of an open run at the box office, especially since no Bollywood film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 10.”

Yash Raj Films has not officially confirmed the reported release shift yet.

Alpha has already gone through multiple release changes. The film was initially expected to release earlier before moving to April 2026. Later, the makers locked July 10 as the final release date. Reports now suggest another revision may be underway.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is considered an important addition to YRF’s Spy Universe as it marks the franchise’s first female led film. Along with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the project also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.

Reports have also linked Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan to cameo appearances in the film. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding their involvement so far.
